Hello one and all,
Been looking into buying a Clio Trophy. Was just wondering what you guys recommend checking outside of the obvious when looking at Trophy's. I know the dampers may need refreshing. How do you know if they do? Are there any tell tale signs? Any help would be appreciated. Does...
Anyone tried Federal 595 RS-R's : semi slicks like R888's - they are significantly cheaper than Toyo's and seem to get good write up's elsewhere. I'm need a new set of track only rubber (was on 888's) and might try them ????
Just got myself a Trophy which has the Mark fish springs and koni rear shocks. Have played around with the settings on the shocks and as recommended elsewhere on here have set the rears at 1 and a quarter off full soft and the fronts at 22 clicks. I do a lot of road miles and am finding the...
hi,
It is with much regret that I am putting #322 Up for Sale. :( I want to pay off my student loan and get a cheap run about - I'm just not doing the Trophy justice driving it back and forward to work!

I've just been out and had a test drive in my first Trophy today. Unfortunately, I didn't note what number it is. Quick questions. 1-we have 3 auto cars at the moment and haven't driven a manual for a while. The clutch engaged/disengaged cleanly but did seem a bit heavy. 2-the steering wheel had...
Popped to see a mate today who works in a garage. While I was there I got talking to a customer who was waiting for his car to be MoT tested. He noticed my car and commented on the twin exhausts and said that he neighbour had a Clio with exhausts like that.. he said it had been standing in...
I'm after anyone's experiences with fitting brake ducts in the Clio fog light holes. Does it make a worthwhile difference to brake cooling? Did you fit a collar on the front facing straight ahead to help catch the air or just ducting back from the holes? I imagine that fitting the ducts from a...
I recently purchased a house which means I maybe forced (regrettably) to move the Trophy on :(. Currently I'm not in a rush to sell as it's tucked away in a garage (been there for the last couple of months) and I'm using a different car to keep the miles of the T.
Usual Trophy Spec.

Ok, so i dont normally whore, but thanks to James (JMS) and Mike (FailSport) last night, the TroFail is now finished. I'm sure a few of you will have read my project thread, & i'll update that with more info than in here, but chuffed isnt the word, it drives brilliantly & looks ruddy lovely imho...
I bought this car in November and have only just got it back from the garage
The previous owner had put Gaz suspension on it,then lowered it and to add
insult to injury put 195 tyres on it for the "streched" look.
Needless to say it didn't drive as a Trophy should.
Thankfully its now back to...
Right guys I'm considering swapping my wheels. My Trophy is a second car and if I'm honest it all ways will be.
The plan is to downsize to 15"Alloys, I only ever use the car in the dry so figured I could get away with a set of road legal track tyres, which would also cover the handful of...
Hi guys, I am looking for a set of 15" alloys to use purely on track days over the coming year. I have spent a bit of time on a number of other clio website including Clio16valver but to be honest there seems to be a huge number of really poor quality wheels on there. When you factor in the...
What is a trophy worth in bits? The car in question is completely standard with engine failure
Dampers are fine, one wheel has a kerb mark that I can see and the mileage is 65-70k miles.
I'm informed the gearbox is fine and the recaro's are in mint condition, any help is appreciated
Hi all,
My partner has opted for self employment and as I have not used my car since September, I am looking to sell my Trophy to cover the everyday bills. As you will see below, the car has never gone short. I am in two minds about selling it and will be genuinely sad to see it go.
Car &...
Hey Guys! I've fancied a new project for a while and finally found what I was looking for today!... I decided to treat myself to a 106 S1 Rallye to use mainly for track days and road rallies! Great spec, just a few little jobs and she's ready for some track action!
I've got a couple of sets of...
Just viewed and bought #365. Thanks to Ben for his time today showing me and the Girlfriend the car, really has been well looked after. It's going to be girlfriends car in the week and mine at weekends I hope! ;-) Cant wait to collect next Saturday.
Hi all.
I have recently fitted some Eibach sportline springs to my trophy. Now when i am approaching or on full lock when manoeuvering the top mounts are clonking away like a good'un? It used to make the noise every now and then before i put them on but no way near as much as it is now...
I have been into detailing now for the last year, on my own car only. However after doing a few friends cars and several others through word of mouth I have decided to start doing it on my days off from work.
This is the process which i take;
Wash
Clay bar the full car
Wash again
Dry all...
I'm thinking of buying a couple of Mich PE3's as the fronts need replacing.
Rears have covered at least 15,000 miles but have good tread.
Do you,
A) Replace the fronts with the new tyres?
Or
B) Switch the partially worn tyres on the rear to the front, and put the new tyres on the rear.
?
This may have been discussed in dribs and drabs before but I thought I would resurrect it.
During the recent weather, I notice that the car seems caked in crap which I think is partly down to dirt/salt being kicked up by the tyres. Curiously, the rear hatch seems to always be the worst affected...

i'm buying my 3yr old a new bike - i'm thinking it needs a pedal back brake (for safety as they've never ridden before). anyone got experience in kids bikes?
Pneumatic tyres for me are a must also....
My rear pads need replacing very soon i've used the search facility and found lots of posts regarding brakes etc.
Now i know the brakes at the rear only take about 20%, so i was going to go for either the standard renault OEM pads or the Ferodo DS2500's which i think quite a few people are...
Could do with 2 new front tyres and was wondering what people thought of these for general road use?

only £10 more than the PE3's, guessing they offer considerably more grip in the dry being a track focused tyre? But wondering just how...
