Well, due to work commitments I have only just got around to reading the article, and I enjoyed reading it. Another one printed off in colour and put away amongst the many amazing reviews the Trophy has recieved - so thanks for the link Jordan :D

Whilst there may be a bit of hype to the journo's story of the tussle with the Boxster, I fully believe that on a tight and twisty road, a Trophy driven at 9/10ths would be able to stay with Boxster being driven at 6/10ths (which was probably the reality of the tussle).

To me the point of the article was about driver enjoyment, written by someone who may not technically know what makes the Trophy great, but who has enjoyed the experience of running a Trophy for a short while. Something I think most of us Trophy owners can relate to :D

The guy in the boxster was probably on the phone doing business. Which is why he owns a boxster and the journo has to borrow cars from renault. :p

I can add some comments here as I own a Boxster S. Firstly before this we had a plain vanilla boxster and in all fairness it slower than a Trophy, 182, 172, its slower up to about 105 mph. Then faster after this if that makes sense. But the S is quicker then my Trophy, maybe I need more miles to be conclusive, but if my S was alongside my Trophy and they both gunned it from standstill or say 40mph, the S would leave it for dead. Probably not the original boxster though, they were not very quick. I don't think a Trophy could lose me on lanes either, I used to rally Escorts in the 80's. I'm not new to quick cars either, had Starion Wide body, Porsche 944 Turbo, 928 S4, Original Boxster (ok so not that fast), Rover 220 Turbo and a TR8 with over 300 bhp.

He races a car on public roads and brags about it (which makes him a knob imo instantly) and then shows the stupidity to print it in an article.

For f**k sake guys. Can we stop this. There is just no need. This forum a few weeks ago was grown up and informative, now look. I am not pointing any fingers, but can we drop the juvenile comments and insinuations? Just for expressing an opinion about cars no matter how wrong someone else may perceive it, is no excuse for abusive retorts. If you don't like what someone says, stay constructive, or as I have said before be quiet.

Yeah, lets try and keep to constructive discussion rather than resorting to personal insults guys. Equally when a personal opinion has been made, lets leave it at that, no need to ram it down everyones throats by continuing to express it multiple times in multiple threads.
