Dampers have just arrived back, the distance between the reseviour and bracket is the same as when i sent them circa 5mm

Just down to me now to clean and spray them up, before i re fit them, oh and slot the top hole even more so i can get up to 2'30 negative camber.

checked mine (21k) and i have around 5mm although a refurb was on my mind for sometime this year...
for people in newcastle i would say Paul Woods would be the place to go to.

Is that R&P Woods?? I was thinking of going there soon to see if they can do them, if you beat me to it let me know what he said.
Cheers

Well no Paul woods wouldnt "do" them, but if i had to trust someone to take of the shocks, store the car properly, send them away, refit etc then paul woods (r&p woods) would be the guy to do it

Had both front tyres changed today and it gave me the chance to look at the dampers properly now I know what I'm looking for. Mine look like the refurb picture (see page 2), which makes me happy. Still going to have them done though in June I think.

What is the best way to leave your car while the dampers are off?

Is it worth getting some cheap 182 front shocks until the Sachs come back?

I left mine on axle stands for a few days, I dont think its worth forking out for 182 dampers unless you need the car while there being done.

Well if there are any signs of oil leaking from the dampers then obviously the chances are the seals have gone and oil has escaped.

Yeah I think that is the most common place but just check around the whole area to make sure.

Mine had the 5mm gap and no signs of oil leaking, it's only that the car felt a little different that i took them off to check them, with the dampers of the car and the springs removed you really shouldn't be able to move the dampers.
One of mine had about 30mm of free travel and the other one was a little soft.
There is no easy way to check them, i use to just keep an eye out for oil and that was about it.

I just noticed through the handling too. I was unaware that there was a way to check the pressure at the time and there was no signs of oil.
