How much would a replacement spring cost and where would you get one from?

Would the body drop down lower than it should be just due to the damper leaking?

Renault. This is all a little premature, the chances are it's sitting low because the damper is knackered not the spring.

OK I hope so, I'll take the wheel off tonight to check the spring.

Has anyone had the struts un-pinned? Is it worth me doing this at the same time?

From my experience of other parts being serviced, you can find that re-furbed parts (not in all cases) will last longer than new parts, as mass production can result in lower quality control, and serviced parts are usually done by hand, where more care and time goes into it.

Do you mind if I ask how much your's cost to service bearne? I've got mine booked in for the 9th of june, Ben did mention though that on average they cost around £160 each, but this depends on condition obviously.

Just paid for mine today and they cost £406.01 inc vat and postage! Not too bad if I'm honest, I thought it would have been nearer £450 - £500! I'll be glad now to get them back on Friday so I should have the T back on the road by the weekend! I'm getting sick of all the walking an my girlfriends oil burner! ;o)

Yeah I took the springs off and gave them a really good clean before sending them, as Ben mentioned if I did this it would reduce the price. The offside strut was in need of a total service as you could hear the oil swashing around inside, so obviously there wasn't any gas left + you could compress the strut (without the spring) very easily. The nearside strut was in much better condition and has probably only had a good check over.

I bought some Hammerite the other day too, so there going to have a proper freshen up before they go back on.

Ive just got mine back on after a refurb and have to say the car feels amazing. Falling in love with the car all over again.

Keith when I called up it was about a 4 week wait.

Yeah like Gazza said I phoned on the 18th May and got them in for the 8th June, so there's a little wait on them. When they're with BG they take about 3 days to service them and post. The difference in the T is amazing! I'm not sure if it's ever felt this good in the time I've had it - makes me think mine have been bad for a long time.

Hi Matt - you say Sachs supplier, who will do the servicing? BG won't sell any Sachs parts to anyone.

The company I use are not anyone they are an Ohlins dealer and have there own suspension dyno but they have asked me not to give there name out as they do not want to deal with the public directly.

Other than your word, can you provide any further evidence, written or stamped perhaps, of Sachs' authorisation?

To be fair to Matt I don't see why he needs to provide authorisation - most damper overhauls only require new seals and repressurisation - the seals are most likely to be available commercially. More difficult is when it comes to broken adjuster spindles etc.

On the other hand one of the Ohlins overhaul specialists in the South has received some bad press on another forum - but then one tends to only post the bad news. The one in Hampshire is well known and has a lot of well respected motorsport experience.
