Now I have my dampers back I decided to strip them down. Does anyone know what oil/fluid grade is used for OEM performance (and volume required per shock)?
Cheers,
Will

I think I've got to the bottom of this, my sleuthing regarding AST led me to Cooksport, who were the UK distributor for AST suspension products. As we know, before they folded, Cooksport had begun to offer a Sachs refurb service, so that's who's probably done the rebuild on the dampers mentioned earlier..This is them:

AST is the High-Performance Suspension Manufacturer of suspension for cars and motorcycles within aftermarket and motorsport. Coilovers made in the Netherlandsast-suspension.com
I had no idea that they re-furbed Sachs dampers... Anyone else?
Im not saying its his problem, BUT...!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been the case for quite some time and Sachs have no interest in or intention of remanufacturing any parts. A real shame, but that’s the reality of things as these cars get older.Does anyone rebuild the rears dampers?
I spoke with BG Motorsport yesterday and they don't rebuild the rears but they also informed me they can no longer get spare parts from Sachs for the fronts.
Sachs also won’t release any of the material specifications etc either for 3rd parties to make stuff bespokely. I’ve been told that they refuse to give this kind of info to BG, which in the long run is going to make things tricky to continue to run the cars on Sachs in any sort of anger.
So to be clear (for me) does that mean BG don't have the spares to services our dampers? If so, this is a joke and a PR own-goal for Sachs.
