Hi guys, title says it all. It's only a thought in the pipeline as I've just stumbled on what looks like a bargain at snetterton, £49 for the day, 15 may. Thing is, my car is absolutely standard, and I don't plan on modding, but I just want to see what the trophy can do in a safe environment. I...
Well eventually I have gotten round to fitting my new Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 tyres to go alongside the K-Tec exhaust and induction kit already fitted.
So on Thursday I am paying a visit to Dan at 519 Automotive to sort suspension and brakes.
On the list is a set of Spax RSX fully adjustable...
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows if OHLINS do a front shock for the trophy/cup ?
As im contemplating changing from Sachs due to costs of new units
Cheers
What kind of springs work best with the Sachs apart from the standard ones? Looking to go for stiffer springs but don't want to wreck the dampers in the process.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Picking up #355 next week and will be my second trophy.
It will be a second car for me so not a daily.
I want it to be setup the best way possible.
Shall I keep it standard in terms of springs etc?
I've heard good things in terms of Mark fish, Cooksport, whiteline arb.
Are these...
hello,
I purchased no 231 from all vehicles in march 2010 with approx 11.5k showing. It now has 28,880. Since the last MOT in August 2012 I have covered just 800 miles. The condition is fantastic having no dents/scuffs etc. The interior likewise and benefitting from the ff rear seat.
I had...
Hi guys.
I'm contemplating some decent coilovers for my RS Twingo but have a question or two...
The Twingo is based on the Mk2 Clio platform, with the rear beam axle having the usual clio style seperate springs and dampers. Front suspension is set to similar angles as the Trophy and shares...
Hi guys , I had thought that I would go for the Nitron Damper setup that K-Tec are developing for the Trophy but have read great things about AST.
And I just wondered if anyone on here has them fitted and what they think ?
Cheers
Neil
Hi guys,I know you guys will be biased but why should I pay the extra for a Trophy over a 182FF?I know it's got the sachs but is the cornering ability that much better?Let me know your thoughts and why you went for a Trophy.Cheers.
Well as some of you will know I have just got my new trophy last week (no 451) and thought I would take it to Cit-Ren in Norwich for a checkover and to get some little jobs doing , door switch failed etc etc.
Well I got a nasty surprise , the former keeper has replaced the front Sachs dampers...

So after having the Sach's refurbed, new MF springs and camber bolts being done ( not on the T yet ) I'm considering fitting new Solid top mounts. Now from various sources I've been told it's too harsh with the Sach dampers. Has anyone got any experiences with STM fitted on there T or should I...
Right ive decided to sell my Trophy and want a R27.
Full history and will have 12 months mot
Good bits:
In January i decided that the dampers could do with a refurb, but i got a good deal on a brand new set from West Renault.
So now having new dampers i decided to get new springs and rear...

Hi.
I have been having a few problems while driving like country type of
Roads not been impressed by the handling of my car :-(
I began to realise something ain't right coz ma old 182 handled better than this. Which isn't right.
Anyway cut a long story short.
I pushed down on the front...
I set the newly refurbed dampers to (what I thought was) 22 clicks. It was as stiff as anything, handled well but felt extremely unstable on the motorway and there was literally no body roll.
I've turned them down a few times and there's a slight bit of body roll now and it feels better...
I am in need of 4 new tyres and looking at prices for premium brand 205/45/16 tyres are £100+ each including P&P/fitting. I used to run a ph2 172 and they ran on 195/45/16. I remember with Conti Sport on the 172 the handling was more playful than the Trophy. Has anyone considered or are...
Just picked up the trophy on monday and thinking about getting it undersealed for the winter. Can anyone recommend any places in the north east, where its worth taking it to.

Hi everyone.
Me and the other half sat in both of these at the Berkshire show yesterday and really liked them, especially the BRZ. We'd like to test drive them both but they're £27,000.
Basically either a house deposit or the car!
We've been wondering if it's morally right to test drive them...
Well last week was the dreaded mot date. I refitted the cat and new lambda sensor ready for the emissions test, and threw the good o/s/f damper in the boot so my mate could fit it before the mot. The damper that was on was soft and made a horrible knocking nois over any bumps it was ridden...
