Well as some of you may know i had planned to go to FCS but due to a last minute change of plans outwith my control and a general lack of accomodation i ended up not making it - which i wasnt too pleased about.
So as the weather was good i decided to cheer myself up at short notice on Sunday...
I've started to learn this technique on downshifts blah blah, i can blip the throttle in my Saxo quite easily but not in the Trophy, is this beacause:-
A - the pedals are to far apart
B - i'm not pressing the brake pedal in enough.
C - my feet to small?
pleae help a wannaby track star!
Got Trophy number 64 just over 2 weeks ago. All I've done until today is go to work in the rain, come home in the rain and go shopping in the rain.
Todays fine, nothing on the telly and the wife ironing. So I put some petrol in her and went for a proper "thrash" - purely to make sure...
I was looking at this car maybe as my next car but
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/204364.htm
It has a clip missing for the side skirt, is this common? Is what he really means, it needs a new side skirt? It needs a first service, I'm guessing this is an oil change at about £150...

Has anyone driven one?
I had a drive in one yesterday and i have to say i was mightily impressed. Steering, handling, and brakes are all very very good. Its not Trophy 'chuckable' on the country roads but i was surprised at how nimble it felt and how much grip there was - especially as its a...
Anyone from around Midlands or up North fancy tagging along??
Looked on map A606 think it is gets me straight there, rather than M1 route.
Whats everyone doing???
Yes, the unthinkable is happening, I'm buying a flat as some of you know and the second love of my life is up for sale. Everyone who's seen this car knows that this is silly money but it's going to Steve at allvehicles at the start of next week so it will go to a lucky new owner for slightly...
Hello you gave me a flash! I flashed back!!
A68 was very busy until across the Border back into England. If I looked bored I was very hungover and tired.
Well, it's been a day of mixed emotions and 500 odd miles in 2 very special cars. I left Brighton this morning and took a roundabout route to Cheltenham via the A272 (one of the best roads in the South of England) in the Trophy and even in the completely atrocious conditions I still had a very...
My car is now back from Ben, who fitted cams, modifed inlet and a re-map. His only concern was that as the car has only done 4,000 miles, all on the ex-factory full synhthetic oil, that the rings may still not be fully bedded in - wants me to use ordinary mineral for a while - and so installed a...
After 4 months of ownership my hair nearly all pulled out and my blood pressure sky high - I finally decided to make the change - and quite fitting that when I had fitted it the heavens opened!
What a difference, can't believe I hadnt done it sooner!
A recommended modification :)
A while ago, an empty stretch of road presented itself to me, so I thought I'd see how fast the Trophy would go. Now, it wasn't the longest stretch of road ever so I couldn't keep my foot planted forever, but it was long enough.
It's not very quick over 100mph, but as it clicked past 125mph it...

hi chaps
i will be the proud owner of trophy 291 tommorow.
i have recently sold my 182 cup to buy a trophy.
i am travelling to aberdeen in the morning to pick up 291 and then enjoy a seven hour drive back to brum. mrs thinks i'm mad but i think it is going to be fun.
will post up...
I do experience some brake fade on some of the back roads here (fast straights then sharp blind bends).
Ferodo DS2500 pads seem to be popular on this forum but I came across the following (see http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/prod ... lAodrFaCGQ )
<quote>
Please remember these pads are...
i've never clayed a car before and wasn't confident enough to try it for the first time on the Trophy. also i wanted the paintwork correcting - especially on the bonnet. so i decided to get it done professionally.
after looking around on the web i selected Gary Funnell from the aptly named...
Ok, so how many people here have had/driven both the trophy and 172's and 182's? to those of you that have I was just wondering how much better you would say the handaling is on the trophys then other clio sports.
Also how hard is the suspension as i have had a few ppl say that it is very...
Hi guys, On my morning comute to work from essex to cambridge I normally only take the twisty way but as I was late getting my sorry ass out of bed I took the M11(this happens alot).
Between Stansted airport junction and Duxford there were average speed cameras between 2 bridges. I spotted...
Went to see Yozza this morning for some new brakes......not really tested them yet but they did a good job. 8)
So when I got home I thought i'd make my dampers adjustable. Tried to remove the grub screw from the drivers side and it would not budge. Even after plenty of easing fluid and a...
I've a bit of a dilemma on my hands here, guys:
My girlfriend and I are going away to Reims and Disneyland Paris next week, but I've just phoned up Admiral and they say they won't comprehensively insure me on the Trophy in Europe until I'm 20 (at the end of July). So this means I have the...
I'm considering purchasing a Trophy in September but I've noticed a few of the regulars on here commenting about the motorway ride.
Is it really as bad as people make it out to be? I'll be frequently travelling to Birmingham, Bristol and London so I'll be hitting the motorway quite a lot...
I know this has probably been done to death but friend of mine has to sell his EVO5, too expensive with the arrival of another rugrat. He can't afford a Trophy so wants to get the next best, opinions please.
Trophy 474 - i'm the second owner of this car which now has 16000 miles on it. Serviced recently and has also recently been PC'd which has brought the paintwork up as new - http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3648 contains the info and pictures of the work carried out.
You all know...
I know it's not a Trophy, but I respect & prefer this place to CS tbh.
The front PE's on my 182 are well....... shot would be a good word.
There is only about 1mm of tread above the wear indicators & I can feel they are past their peak performance. Here lies the dilemma.
PE's are roughly...
:?: Hello peeps, i need some advice. I have a rather boring 03 plate renault kangoo van for work which im happy to say will be going at the end of next month. I have wanted a clio for the past 6 years, ever since my brother in law had an old 172. I am torn between a trophy or a black 182? I love...
Saw the new Golf advert the other night - 'Night Driving' - it seems to be about getting out enjoying your Golf away from the peak time rush (but still only driving it in the city?!) and has the tag line:
'When was the last time you just went for a drive?'
I had to laugh when i saw it...
