Morning
Do any of you know the typical cost for a Clio RS 182 36K service from a dealship/non dealership??
My girlfriend had to fork out £370 inc VAT for her Cupped 182. That was not including any extra over parts that needed replacing. Is this reasonable??

Hi all,
I have always upgraded brakes on my cars, as I think that it improves the car is so many ways for swift b road trips and track days and I have always been disappointed in the Trophy’s braking performance, but other people seem the be fairly pleased with them as a standard...
So i took the Trophy to get it checked to see what kind of condition the brakes were in as i was getting some travel on the pedal..... £46 later and the results were in,
pads 60% worn on fronts and 70% worn on backs, ok so i've got another couple of thousand miles left.
i asked what the...
Hi
In the last couple of days when i've been driving hard the traction control and service warning lights flick on. When i press the traction control button it makes no difference - the warning light stays on!
When i have had chance to stop i turn the engine off and back on - and both...
Evening all! :)
Well it's been a whle since my last post..but it feels good to be back trawling the boards!
Number 351 is now sporting a lovely set of Yoko Parada's (perfectly in time for winter! ) and although they've only been on for 500 miles, initial impressions are good...
Heres some pics of Rou our wicked red vts. Rou short for rouge (red in french)
Had her a week now, shes had a new battery, new wipers, 4 new tyres, new bulbs, new number plates and had a good clean
On the way back from the caravan (lake district) today i dediced to go back via hartside pass instead of the boring A66! Its the first time i've really had chance to use te car as it should be! can't believe how great it handled the twists, turns and hair pins! It was a much better experience...
Hi y'all,
Well some of you might have been following my progression with the Orbi removal, for those of you who are not sure why I made this ludicrous move its mainly due to:
1) The system is the race one and therefore very "in your face"
2) Missus bugging the hell outta me to remove it...
Hi to everyone.Excellent forum.I am a new member from Greece.I own a Clio 172 cup full Gr.N3 and as a recce car an 182 cup.
However, in my recce car-the 182 cup- seems impossible to change the steering wheel with deep dished one-as the ABS and the ESP are off and the car cannot brake from high...
A bit of a landmark day with the 50th Clio Trophy being delivered and buying the first FD2 CTR from Japan. Funny how in the 21st C you can spend a shed load of money when you are asleep!
Brand new delivery mileage car in Champ White. Reg'd Sept so will be 57 plate. To be advertising later for...
My car needs a new set of front pads. I've decided on buying Ferodo DS2500's but everywhere I look the prices seem so largely different.
The best price I have found so far is £99.98 for the pair. Does anyone know of any company that sells them cheaper or is this the best I'm really likely...
I took my car upto the Evo triangle on friday...some epic roads well worth the trip anyway after a couple of laps I noticed that the brakes had faded abit and the clutch pedal a little lower than normal but I put this down to heat and "spirited driving "
However on the next lap the clutch...
Here it is, had lots of people asking me across different forums asking if I had bought the new car yet so it now pleases me to officially announce my new purchase!
Just a few pics taken tonight after a day at Rentech...
Mods: H&R Coilovers, Carbon splitter, Prospeed Exhaust...
What can I say but what a top guy, had a long discussion about which direction we could go tuning wise, his current motorsport ventures and which teams arent following the rules
Had some toys fitted today and am happy as a pig in sh*t with the results, the ITG Maxogen complements the exhaust...
I am buying a car that needs a little spending on it including a 12,000 mile service, new front tyres, road tax, small dent repair (paint intact) and possibly a new wheel.
I really want to get the most out of this Trophy so what I want to know is:
If you could make only 3 modifications to...
Steve's old Trophy is quick, but got me thinking who has done the most mods to their Trophy.
If you want to add to thread just summarise with approx cost...
I've started to learn this technique on downshifts blah blah, i can blip the throttle in my Saxo quite easily but not in the Trophy, is this beacause:-
A - the pedals are to far apart
B - i'm not pressing the brake pedal in enough.
C - my feet to small?
pleae help a wannaby track star!
Has anyone driven one?
I had a drive in one yesterday and i have to say i was mightily impressed. Steering, handling, and brakes are all very very good. Its not Trophy 'chuckable' on the country roads but i was surprised at how nimble it felt and how much grip there was - especially as its a...
My car is now back from Ben, who fitted cams, modifed inlet and a re-map. His only concern was that as the car has only done 4,000 miles, all on the ex-factory full synhthetic oil, that the rings may still not be fully bedded in - wants me to use ordinary mineral for a while - and so installed a...
hi chaps
i will be the proud owner of trophy 291 tommorow.
i have recently sold my 182 cup to buy a trophy.
i am travelling to aberdeen in the morning to pick up 291 and then enjoy a seven hour drive back to brum. mrs thinks i'm mad but i think it is going to be fun.
will post up...
To use 100% full throttle, do you have to press the horrible button thing at the end of the pedal's travel down, or will resting the throttle against it suffice for maximum accelerative force?
I can't work out if there's a difference with it pressed or not...
Havn't posted for a while but after searching the many posts on here and cs about brake upgrades, I plumped for the pagid blue rs 4.2 pads and new brembo high carbon disks.
I had them fitted at GDI last saturday (Thanks Andy & Mark) Their service and attention to detail was excellent. I...

Noticed rust ring round edge of disc, inside edge when changing wheels.
Don't want to severe set up, or anything thats going to destroy alloys :D
Been suggested to change pads & disc will clean up :?
Got the car on Saturday - filled her on empty to full on Optimax (£44!!)
Ive done nearly 200 miles and its nearly on empty :'(
£44 in my old golf diesel woulda got me just over 400 miles!!!
My trophy needs new pads and discs all round, I'm thinking of upgrading to some that feel more solid and that don't squirm under heavy braking as with the standard ones.......
I don't really know much about these things, anyone got any recommendations? Also, how does upgrading affect the...
Right guy's currently have two cars and a motorbike.
Thought i'd down size to just one car and my bike as i do around about 100 miles commute and enjoy riding more than driving.
So have looked at loads of cars lately, anyway found myself in a ford garage today looking at a 55 reg fiesta...
Ive just had a reply from Ben about the exhaust they are develooping and this is what he had to say:-
Hello Michael,
The exhaust is indeed something that is very special, however the custom
components are expensive and rather fancy.
Cost will be in the region of £1000-£1200, yet it...
I currently run a Saab 9-3 and normally lurk on Scoobynet, have had a few sportier cars such as a Volvo T5, Fiat Coupe Turbo, Golf GTI's, Rover BRM etc.
My Saab is nearing 100,000 and hasn't got aircon so I fancy a change, I have been eyeing up the 172 and 182 for years now, especially when...
