When pressing the clutch pedal down it feels like its scraping against something. It also makes a creaking noise. Has this happened to anyone else? Its been noticeable for a few weeks but has got worse over the past couple of days. Any ideas, ta.
anyone tried painting their calipers red?? how do u think it would look?? good or tacky...best get on photoshop lol.
Fitting my new brakes in a week or so, debating whether to paint the calipers. Not necessarily red, but anyone done any other coulours?? Black/Silver?

Right, I'm just about to place my order for new front discs and pads, I've decided on Brembo High Carbon discs, as they are a cheaper and better alternative than the OE discs (which are often specified as these discs anyway), but after trawling through all the brake posts, I'm still bloody...
Just got the replacement for the Trophy yesterday. 20k miles on the clock and paid £14,750 from a trader completely factory standard. I feel guilty for saying it but it's better than the Trophy in every aspect in my opinion:
The clutch pedal is harder, the brake pedal is harder and has...
Just a little reminder to you all that as of the 27th Feb '07 if your seen using your mobile;
whilst driving,
supervising a learner driver or
deemed not in position to have proper control,
you will find yourself with £60 fine and 3 points!!!!
nerly crashed the trophy the other day because my foot slipped off the clutch.
which made me think are the pedals on our cars legal?
i always thought the clutch and brake pedals should have some sort of rubber grips in them to prevent this??
anyone got any ideas?
It's a feature of the Trophy that's often forgotten, correct me if I'm wrong but it is unique to the Trophy right? Or was it an optional extra on the late FF 182's?
Anyway, does anyone still use theirs? I used to use it a lot when I first got the car to keep my license but I don't think I've...
Hi all ive got a trophy with a sticking throttle when you floor the throttle in say 2nd or 3rd, when you press the clutch down to change gear the engine just revs up like its out of gear, like someone has just floored the throttle and it just revs up to the limiter and sits bouncing of it...
It'd been 20 odd days since my last outing in the trophy due to being busy and the rubbish weather we've been having. However my power steering pump failed on my daily driver (206) so i've been "forced" to drive the trophy. I woke up excited to drive it and got to work with a grin on my face...
I have noticed recently that in the wet the brakes seem to ''fade'' quite easily. I know that the brakes on the Trophy are not the best in the world but these are not good. It happened today at a roundabout, and it was dry, I hit the brakes, got a little bite then nothing.
My discs were new...
My toy is coming due for service #1.
Anyone have any particularly good (or bad) dealer ratings in the Romford/Hornchurch/Brentwood areas?
Under mileage, so only really needs an oil change and a few bits of rattly trim/creaky stiff clutch pedal dealing with.
Appreciate any feedback.
just decided to phone up and order the Spax lowering springs for the trophy (20mm) but they have been discontinued due to a lack of sales??? lol
Not being funny but i said to the guy that there are only a percentage of the 551 or so trophys in the world that are gonna want to lower them...
05/05 6,300m.
Bought Aug 06, now the second owner.
Got used to the 'tomato' now, handling is out of this world on my way to work down wet, greasy b roads.
Treated it too, ITG, boot net & shelf (bloody great) spare turini, silvervisions, soon to have wiper arm mod & lube & filter change.
I'm too lazy to search through the archives - is there a quick answer to the right brake pacakge for the front of the Trophy?, I will probably only do 2 or 3 trackdays a year.
Thanks!
Nope 328 is still in good health, but I've just had the DVLA paperwork come through confirming the plate is now on retention. I've just fitted my new plates, guess i'd better change my forum name now!
Any chance of maybe getting some keyrings made, like the ones on cliosport in enamel.
Would there be enough interest to look into a getting a batch made? They are £6 on cliosport.
Any takers?
Just fitted Brembo High CArbon disks with Pagid RS42 pads braided hoses and 5.1 dot.
took a day to bed in did disks first with 3 lots of heat treat with full cool down and then 10x 90 Mph stops to do the pads till fade.
Bite is great now and the extra G you get when stopping make you...

At the moment I'm running standard discs and pads with up-rated fluid and hoses.
I'm looking to upgrade the front pads for my trip to Abbeville in France with easytrack next month and have pretty much decided on the Ferodo DS2500.
Is it also worth changing the discs at the same time for...
Hi guys, im in the process of buying a house and the CTR is proving costly in terms of monthly payment and fuel so thinking of changing to a trophy.
Looked at them last year but decided to keep the CTR.
Will i find driving the trophy a big change to the type r? What should i look out for...
I've been offline for a while 'cos Ive been in hospital for a spinal operation, I'm back home now and able to sit up long enough for a quick type here and there. What's been going on? Have I missed anything entertaining?
Test-driving the £12995 trophy out of Renault in Coulsdon this Friday and boy am I going to wring it's neck out!
I figure I'm going to head South towards Merstham on the A23 then return via the country roads through Chipstead that run parallel to the A23 to ensure that my passenger will...
A quick question I wonder if anyone could help me with. I have a small problem with 104 :(
Symptoms:
- Under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd I get a noise from under the car, seems to be below and between footwells, once past maybe 4,500 rpm.
- But doesn't happen if I accelerate slowly...
  left a roundabout at full gas in second going up a small twisting hill road in my town when i went to let off approaching a bend the throttle stayed stuck to the floor as i pushed the clutch the car was revving to the limiter like a mother fucker had to quickly turn the engine...
Yeah, i`ve never felt so stupid in my life, basically picked up the GF from stanstead and showing off i put my footdown.... 70-80.......100....130... mph.. what do i see behind me? Volvo estate unmarked police car ... heart dropped.. eventually pulled me... average speed over 1/2 mile 126.6mph...
Does anyone know why there is a 'button' at the bottom of the footwell where the accelerator is?
The only reason I can think of is to de-activate the speed limiter cruise control. Other than that... pointless?
can any one tell me if this is normal, when accelerating hard
the pedal feels smooth, then halfway down seems to stick
just for a moment then runs smooth again,is this normal
or does the car have a problem?.
