Howdy folks,
After having been an avid owner and fan of the Trophy for well over a year now i am ashamed to say i havent been on here much apart from when fault-finding!! Seems to be a great bunch on here though so thought i'd start chatting!!
However, my first post in a while is a gripe. Now...
I cooked my brakes last time I was on track.
When driving home I noticed that when stationary i could put my foot to the floor quite easily, I don't remember being able to get the brake pedal to the floor.
Anyway after new brake fluid and new pads (Running BremboHC discs, DS2500 pads and braided...
Hey. :D
Ive just had these fitted to the Trophy along with the powerflex dogbone mount.
I decided to buy these mounts because while back I had my car put on the RR and I was shocked by the amount of movement from the Engine under acceleration and when backing off the pedal at high revs. The...
My Trophy has had new discs and pads fitted at around xmas time (before I bought it) and I took the trophy out yesterday to show a couple of mates. I must have driven about 10 miles on some country roads, fairly spirited but nothing insane with some mild braking. Next thing I know someones...
Hoping for some decision making replies here
After doing bedford on monday, i need to improve the brakes, They're good, but not good enough, they are what was on the car when i bought it.
I'm not looking for disc recomendations as such as i have a set of brembo max's sat in the...
Was driving on an A road at speed and needed to slow down, however, the car did not slow down as it should and literally had to press the pedal till it would go no further. The car eventually slowed to a stop right up behind the car in front waiting at the round about. He must have thought I...
As title says now and then there seems to be no go from the engine as if its sticking (if that makes sense) only seemed to occour in 4th at around 3k revs, you could feel the vibration through the throttle pedal too. Any ideas?. (i have been having some probs with my new pads and discs and also...
Hope you guys can help me :D
Question 1
I'm thinking about replacing the exhaust on T450, would you recommend replacing the rear and centre exhaust mounts as well, (i've/shes done 22k).? also whats this exhaust mod i've heard about concerning hosepipe/sockets/copper pipe etc?
Question 2
i'm...

Hi All,
I've recently uprated my brakes to Brembo HC disk, DS 2500 pads, braided lines and DOT 5.1 fluid. The brakes were treated gently for the first 250 miles, however, on returning back from a long drive I noticed they started squeeling when coming to a stop.
As I was still a long way from...
Hi,
I've got a couple of questions about the clutch/gearbox on my Trophy and I wanted to see if anybody else had experienced the same things.
1. Being able to beat the synchro in 5th gear sometimes? This has only happened really occasionally, but there have been times where I've changed from...
I had read a blog from a team that races 172s and they had said that the rear wheel bearings were a consumable item and needed replacing pretty often.
Yesterday i changed my rear brakes & bearings for brand new genuine renault bits, and also cleaned several tonnes of crap off the inside of my...
Hey,
does anyone know the name of the manager/director of Renault UK, gotta send a letter to him with reference to a complaint about a local Renault garage which decided to take my car on a jolly when i told them they couldn't!!!!
i know his name has been mentioned on here before but cant find...
Was just on my way to work the other day and the SERV and Traction control light came on?? also something esle was lite up but was more focused on the SERV lite. I wasn't driving fast, once I pulled up into work turned the car off - I turned it back on again and the light was out?! :? any...
Hi guys,
I've got a 2003 Clio Sport 2.0 16v 172 and there seems to be a problem with the brakes which is worrying me a bit. Basically when you put your foot on the brake pedal it takes AGES to slow down... almost like they aren't working at all. I took it to a mate who likes to poke about with...
Hi all,
I don't post much on here, but I thought there would be a higher number of Orbisoud exhaust owners here than on CS. I'm after a bit of feedback on the exhaust systems. I've had mine on the car for quite a few months and considering the price of the system I've got to admit I was...
Scary half hour for me and 427 earlier!
My road is one car wide and generally crap, went to see a mate, or tried to! Got to a very steep hill(going down) with some sharp corners and huge banks each side, a few people have lost control and rolled there! Anyway going very slow, abs kicks in and...
Hi guys,
I'm going to look at No. 382 on Friday and if all goes well I'll bring her home on the same day. I've noted some info below and would appreciate your thoughts please.

Now I've got an Orb (being fitted tomorrow) I need to sell my Janspeed.
It's currently about 2 years old (I'll post some pictures when its off the car).
Great sounding system if your after something that's not in your face but lets you know its there when you press the loud pedal. Plus a good...
Sometimes when i go to lock the car, it keeps bleeping........ yes i know normally it mean you havent shut the door properly but i have!! & its not the batteries!??
Another thing, sometimes when driving and i take my foot off the gas pedal it keeps going to hit limiter, and have to turn the car...

Hi Guys
My Trophy appears to have just started making a "clicking" noise when you pull away. Its still under warranty but just wanted to know if this was a common thing so i could perhaps relay some feedback to renault.
Thanks
ive just brought my trophy last saturday and it was quite warm so i thought il try out the air con and to be honest i wasent impressed, my old 172 was the same but my old 1.5 dci clio was ice cold, i went down to dealer and they said it didnt need regassing. has anybody had the same problem?
Guys
Been looking into upgrading my brakes, (even more so now because both front and rears are really worn), still mulling over whether i want a semi track set up and go down the Pagid blue/brembo HC set up, however I may want to just plump for a fast road use set up instead. I stumbled upon...
I've been told that it's reasonable to swap the front set of wheels for the back set of wheels in the interest of 'cough' preserving consistent tyre wear.
While I appreciate this is potentially a pikey way to go on tyres, it may make some sense as it means you can manage to have 4 newtyres...
After giving no190 a good clean yesterday i went for a nice drive out and about..all was good until about 3 mins after id left mine the service light came on with the traction control light :( I pulled over at a garage..turned the car off turned it back on and all was ok....carried on driving...
I know this has been visited many times but I'm looking for some new brake discs and pads. Not fussed about track use, just want a good road set. They've got to be good from cold, not mark my alloys, no noise and I don't want to change the brake hose etc. I'm keeping it simple. Any ideas, plus...
