Is there a way to tell if the front shocks are "scored"?

Cheers.

Scores in the piston not easily spotted but can be seen up close. Also you can feel the score by running your finger nail over it.

My NS damper was the worst BG Motorsport had seen!

Obvious symptom for me was oil leaking!

Both of the shafts on mine have just been replaced because of scoring. I could see very faint lines on mine..

That's my fear with refurbing the excisting Sachs, that the shafts need replaced...quite a difference in price!

Think i am just going to order a set of Cup front dampers to tie me over tell the new Sachs come in!

Just ordered some new Cup shocks for the front until the Sachs arrive!

I take it they will be fine with new rear Sachs shocks?

Cheers

Are Clio 182 Cup damper pistons longer than Sachs pistons?

Bit more detail...

Removed the front Sachs suspension, and just tried to fit 182 Cup dampers with the Eibach springs and top mounts form the Sachs, but the pistons are 2" longer so now need to use spring clamps to fit them onto the car.

Is this normal, can't be the first to fit Cup dampers on a Trophy?

Ps, only temporary until my new Sachs arrive ;)
