Hello All!

Got the opportunity to clean the new Trophy or Rory as my 3 yr old daughter calls him, now been in my ownership for a week and loving it, completely standard, need some new exhaust brackets (wonky tail pipes) and the sachs rebuilding ASAP, apart from that its mint 1 owner, and been very well looked after. I know the splitter is missing the previous owner said it didn't come with one, and by the time he noticed it was to late to have a whinge at the dealer, so its on the list

I'm a massive Renaultsport fan, previously owned a 172, 182, 197 Cup and a Megane R26, and currently have a Williams 3 (Willy) as you can see in the photos!

Look forward to meeting those who are attending the North Wales / Chester meet next week, sure I'll be asking lots of questions and adding my two pence worth to some threads soon, cheers Paul

more photos of Willy and Rory from today can be found here  : http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulduddle ... 019107905/

You are V lucky to have 2 such clean examples. Im still in the process of trtying to convince my good lady that 'His & Hers' Trophy's is not such a bad idea.

Very nice mint cars you have there!

So from all the Renault sports you have driven/owned which ones do you like most?

that's like asking me which my favorite child

172 - Great q car, bought it new, and nobody knew what they were, lots of upsets on the twisty stuff :D
182 - better built, more in your face, still like scrappy do, let me at-um!
197 - Horrid, lasted 6 weeks, too big, not quick, handled ok (cup pack)
R26 - Amazing, wish we never parted company just let down by the build quality - hoping the Trophy copes with the bends similarly.
Trophy - As me in a few weeks when I've had the suspension Re-furb'ed, 1st impressions are we're going to get on like a house on fire! Full of character and feels special.
Williams - Just make you smile, my era so special to me, still quick in the real world, sometimes feels fragile [-o<

Out of all of the cars I've owned, inc an E30 M3, Alpina, Porsche's, GTI's, Subaru PPP, classics and other Germanic steeds, its the RS cars are the ones I lust after an miss, hence the return to the Trophy and currently looking for a 3 car have the Megane R26 and 250 in my sights, but with 2 small children trying to convince the wife there practical, and of course everything's relative

p55dud, nice taste in cars you have :D
I need to drive a Trophy from what I read here.
Why did you part with the R26?
The good thing is if I get a Trophy we could probably still keep the FSTI.

I just get ichy feet, I was doing lots of mileage and bought a MK6 Golf GTI for refinement. But i was an amazing car, was the one I miss, even over the E30 M3 which is meant to be the holy grail of handling and race car dynamics, beautiful car though :D

Trophy is an amazing car, like I say feels special, need to get the suspension rebuilt before I give it proper beans, cant wait, it is a hard ride though. but a great little cruiser, I've done prob 600 miles in the last week on the motorway until I settle on a sensible car, and its fine, ride is very hard, but can't have it all! Good luck the fun is in the search :)
