I am hoping you guys will be able to help. I am looking at buying a Trophy. I am considering buying the car unseen - the owner seem genuine.
I appreciate this varies but could you give me some idea on life expectancy of the tyres and brake pads please.
My local dealer seems pretty poor...
I'm sitting at 21,500, almost 12 months since my last service and needing a new pair of front shoes. Over the next 5 weeks I've got to cover a few thousand miles including a trip to the Scottish Highlands.
By the time I head off to Scotland on September 8th I'll probably be around the 23K -...

Think after last restart Cue got within 2 bends of the last car on track & no other cars were anywhere in view :-#
Has anyone driven one?
I had a drive in one yesterday and i have to say i was mightily impressed. Steering, handling, and brakes are all very very good. Its not Trophy 'chuckable' on the country roads but i was surprised at how nimble it felt and how much grip there was - especially as its a...
Well, it's been a day of mixed emotions and 500 odd miles in 2 very special cars. I left Brighton this morning and took a roundabout route to Cheltenham via the A272 (one of the best roads in the South of England) in the Trophy and even in the completely atrocious conditions I still had a very...
Ok, so how many people here have had/driven both the trophy and 172's and 182's? to those of you that have I was just wondering how much better you would say the handaling is on the trophys then other clio sports.
Also how hard is the suspension as i have had a few ppl say that it is very...
Went to see Yozza this morning for some new brakes......not really tested them yet but they did a good job. 8)
So when I got home I thought i'd make my dampers adjustable. Tried to remove the grub screw from the drivers side and it would not budge. Even after plenty of easing fluid and a...
Popped along to have my Paradas fitted this luncheon time.
All was going well & the lads were being extra careful with my wheels so not to mark them.
A guy turned up to pick up his Lambo wheels having just been fitted with fresh rubber, anyways he managed to knock one of my wheels face side...
I know it's not a Trophy, but I respect & prefer this place to CS tbh.
The front PE's on my 182 are well....... shot would be a good word.
There is only about 1mm of tread above the wear indicators & I can feel they are past their peak performance. Here lies the dilemma.
PE's are roughly...
:?: Hello peeps, i need some advice. I have a rather boring 03 plate renault kangoo van for work which im happy to say will be going at the end of next month. I have wanted a clio for the past 6 years, ever since my brother in law had an old 172. I am torn between a trophy or a black 182? I love...
Have tried searching but not found anything.
Has anyone gone to a DC5 from a Trophy?
Or vice versa from a DC5 to a Trophy?
Am thinking about what i'm going to get next(soon)and i love the DC5 Integra and i want a WHITE car!!!!
Have even been thinking about getting the Trophy "Wrapped" in...
F*ck me, WHAT an engine! And gearbox for that matter. It's more torquey than Type-R lumps of old and still has the same mental top end. The gearbox is so much better than a Clio's and the razor sharp throttle response / lack of engine inertia means heel 'n toe changes are...
Noticed rust ring round edge of disc, inside edge when changing wheels.
Don't want to severe set up, or anything thats going to destroy alloys :D
Been suggested to change pads & disc will clean up :?
How?! :?
Took the old pads out, gave everything a good clean, wound the caliper piston back in, the inboard pad fits fine. But there is no way the outside pad will fit, the gap between the outer edge of the disc and the caliper / pad retaining bracket is about 2mm too small.
In writing...
Well... which car? :)
I find myself looking longingly at the Liquid Yellow (without scum stickers) Megane R26 that blasts the opposite direction to myself every afternoon on the way home from work. I just think it's a gorgeous car, and I think I may have to own one.
Being less realistic...
right, having given up trying to find some Speedline corse 2020's for my track tyres, what are peoples opinions on the following:
Turini's - standard trophy ones, albeit in 15"
Team dynamics pro race 1.2's
OZ Ultra leggera
that's what i've narrowed the search down to.... has to be 15"...

I'm drowning in stupidity over there. Someone talk some sense into those people who think the Trophy would corner better if it didn't cock a rear wheel under hard braking and cornering. Include some pictures of FWD race cars doing the...
Coming up for my 24K service and just wanted to know where people near me went. I live near stansted.
All I seem to hear is ren-tech, ren-tech, but there is no way im going to portsmoth to service my car! well maybe lol
Cheers
Hello all,
I'm David and I'm thinking of getting a Clio Trophy. :) I currently drive an Audi TT Quattro Sport (that I've only owned for six weeks!) and before that I had a Ford Focus RS. I keep reading about how great the Trophy is and it's gradually drawing me in. I suspect I could have a...

out of interest, how does the trophy suspension compare with a clio 182 on aftermarket coilovers say H&R's.
which is likely to perform better.
If nobody knows then I will let you know what the answer is because me and some friends are doing a trackday...obviously my trophy, a 172 cup on...
Could possibly be a really dumb question. Is damper performance dependent on weather? Over the last couple of days it appears to have got warmer and my car seems to be noticeably more supple over the bumps. In contrast a week ago it was around 0c and it felt a lot harder and less compliant...
