The fronts on my trophy are well overdue for a change and im tempted to change and try the toyo r888s, Has anyone tried them for everyday road use?? ive read all the write ups about them but just wondering if anyone on here has tried them?
Hi guys, just had a wonderfull experiance at my local renault dealer that i brought the car of a mounth ago.NOT.
They owe me to new tyers and had them fitted today and they've fitted firestones instead of the michelin tyres i asked for. Does enyone know weather they are up to much or is it me...
i see this months Evo features a trophy against a 197 cup around the new west circuit at the Bedford Autrodrome....guess who wins
and details of the new megane R26-R (not sure about those wheels)
I've been told that it's reasonable to swap the front set of wheels for the back set of wheels in the interest of 'cough' preserving consistent tyre wear.
While I appreciate this is potentially a pikey way to go on tyres, it may make some sense as it means you can manage to have 4 newtyres...
By Rex,
This is a piece I'm about to submit to Auto-Journals:
Three RenaultSport cars in eight months: whilst that statistic may appear to be the symptom of a depreciation junkie, in truth it is my car history since September 2007.
Ownership of my first Renault Sport, an Arctic Blue...
Have just spoken to Rentech in Portsmouth about my Trophys hard ride. I love the car but using it every day, sometimes its just too hard. They have said that they can remove the pins from the dampers which will make the ride softer, however they have not had any feed back from the few trophys...
A few pics my mate took of mine and my mates cars over the weekend:
Some of the sessions were dangerously wet, and a couple were bone dry...all i will say is R888's in wet...not overly dangerous, R888's in dry transform the car!
brothers evo 9 with friend mk1 172:

thinking about some track wheels and tyres and need a number of sizes etc to give to a friend so he can contact the companies required.
If they are 15's then will they be 195/50 or can 205's fit?
Is the offset ET45?
What is the PCD?
would all the info above be the same on a 172 Cup...
I'm getting my geometry fine tuned within next couple of weeks. I'm yet decided if I'm going to go for -2 camber or just optimise/correct the factory settings.
Does anyone know what the factory camber/toe settings should be exactly?
I know this has been visited many times but I'm looking for some new brake discs and pads. Not fussed about track use, just want a good road set. They've got to be good from cold, not mark my alloys, no noise and I don't want to change the brake hose etc. I'm keeping it simple. Any ideas, plus...
I'm just wondering for those people that have gone from 182/172 variants to the Trophy if you notice the Trophy is snappier?
I'm still not fully use to mine due to the conditions and lack of opportunities to really test the handling. I've noticed you need to work harder to keep the Trophy in...
Quite keen to try a Whiteline rear ARB on the Trophy, mostly read good reports. Any thoughts from anyone?
Also note there is the start of a group buy over on the cliochav forum, sorry I mean cliosport.
Is it possible to do a straight swap for the FF's interior light, which (I believe) has a map light built-in to it? I'm doing a navigational rally tomorrow night and have just had to rig up a load of cardboard and masking tape to shield the light from my side of the car...
If anyone...
Hi all,
I have always upgraded brakes on my cars, as I think that it improves the car is so many ways for swift b road trips and track days and I have always been disappointed in the Trophy’s braking performance, but other people seem the be fairly pleased with them as a standard...
I've got W's on the front and V's on the back, there's only a £7 difference between the two.worth getting W's? apart from the speed rateings is there any other difference? blackcircles seem to be the cheapest so far £78.
Cheers
Alex
Been looking around the forum for a few days now and just thought i would say hello  currently own a facelift CTR and have always had Type R's with my last car being a DC5 and a DC2 before that but am now thinking of picking myself up a Trophy as i have always liked them 8) and fancy a...
Nipped out today at about 2 o'clockish, just to go to the shops. So the tyres didn't have any time to warm up (engine running at full temp), anyway i was just coming up to a roundabout to double back on myself, went in to the roundabout nothing crazy normal speed and the car just started goin...
As stated in title what shall I opt for as next motor?
R26
Pro's - handling, style, extra room (enough for a bike), 230 bhp, warranty, 57 plate
Con's - build quality, renault deprciation
350z
Pro's - more style, rare, build quality, performance, handling, engine, holds value
Con's -...
I can see me getting one of these in the next few months, so I'm going to give one a go tomorrow at the local Renault dealer. I'm hoping it'll be the perfect car for me -
I love the way the Trophy handles, but I don't like the relative lack of power and torque.
I loved the way my Focus RS...

Evening all! :)
Well it's been a whle since my last post..but it feels good to be back trawling the boards!
Number 351 is now sporting a lovely set of Yoko Parada's (perfectly in time for winter! ) and although they've only been on for 500 miles, initial impressions are good...
Hello All,
I am a Renault hot hatch enthusiast. I used to own a Williams and a Trophy and have just finished with an R27 Clio F1 for 3 days.
I used to bang on and on about how great these cars were. They are and I still do. But just to clear things up, the Clio F1 is simply awesome too...
lots of people are running 15's with semi slick's i.e. R888's, but anyone tried full slicks yet?
just something i have been thinking about today after a trackday yesterday!
if so, where can you buy slicks? looked on google with not much luck!
So I was sitting in a tyre fitter this AM getting four new tyres  for my van, idly flicking through Evo's tyre awards for 2007 supplement as tested on a golf GTI.
Goodyear came top, Michelin came about half way down.
Second overall, and first in several categories came tyres by...
Having had a plethora of hot hatches (and having the Trophy for 1 week) I can honestly say that i don't think that you could do much better than a trophy for everyday use. I traded in my Elise for this car and I believe its quicker!
More than anything you get the feeling from the driving...
I know a couple of people here run 15s for the track. What wheels are they and what weight are they per corner?
Also what Tyres are you running?
My current line of thinking is to buy some 15inch Corse's and put some R888s on.
Hi There
Im going out for a bit of a spirited drive tmor and want to check all my tyre pressures, now i know they are in the manual but do people follow them or is there a set you guys use ?
Sam
Hi There
As the new owner of "steves" old trophy i wanted to ask a few questions ..
1. Is it worth removing the acoustic valve ?
2. Does a Decat have a dramatic increase in noise and will the decat pipe that ktec sell work with the standard back box
3. Does everyone stay with the...
