Got it booked in for a service next weekend, where I'm chucking on new OEM dicsc, Fedoro FS2500 pads, gulf racing brake fluid and braided hoses.
Also changing the engine oil to Gulf competition, new air filter, gearbox oil, engine...
Bought this brilliant car earlier in the year with the intention of doing a few hill climbs sprints (see my posts on here in spring about damper rates etc) - but apart from a couple of outings it hasn't been used much so unfortunately it must go. Getting valet done at the weekend so will have...

Hi all
I had a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for, so excuse the new thread.
Is there a recommended set of milestones for services (minor and major)?
My Trophy is sitting at just under 41,000 and the previous owner advised me to get her serviced next at around 45k...
Coolant and antifreeze is a topic we are asked about on a regular basis, and often causes confusion; types, colours, service life etc.
Perhaps the most frequent cause of confusion is what the difference between anti-freeze or coolant is. Basically, they’re the same product (although the term...
Now for sale as my friend can’t get insured on the 182 with it all fitted lol …
We’re looking to sell the whole lot in one go, so everything that has been changed/adapted we'll give the purchaser - essentially creating a plug & play installation. From memory, this should include the following...
I had it come on this morning coming home from the gym. No symptoms whatsoever, just the light. I've booked it in for Monday. I assume it's just the Coolant Temperature Sensor. Hopefully it will be a painless easy fix.
Hi Guys and Girls,
Can you please help and explain what the Exhaust Gas Monitor Warning light 'Flashing' actually means in English. The eplanation in the handbook is as helpful as usual.
Can I drive the car slowly to the garaga 3 or 4 miles away?
The tempature gauge has been fluctuating...

Hi all,
My trophy has only been averaging between 26-28mpg recently where usually its easily 33-35mpg. Around a month ago I put a decat on it, do these affect mpg that much? Or could it be the lambda sensor? may have got damaged when putting in the decat?
Well in the last few weeks the sudden drop in temperatures has caught out a few people
In view of this I thought it worthwhile to highlight a few areas worth paying attention to.
Coolant/anti-freeze - I've seen a number of cars that the anti-freeze concentration has been far too weak, causing...
Right, The GF has a KA (I hate the thing) and the coolant system is poo. Two years ago the small pump in the bulkhead failed so we replaced that. Month or so back the stat failed, replaced that all OK and the car has been working fine, not lost any coolant. However. Today she came back and said...
Just bought no 429 , 29k miles. I want to get big service, belts etc etc. I am in north London, any advice very welcome as doing really want to go to main dealer.
Also, any top tips re tuning/chipping the car for better / smoother running ?

Hello,
My Trophy is all booked in for a Service & Cambelt in the next week and my pockets are literally empty. . .
Mainly due to the fact that this also comes in the month when the MOT, Insurance and Tax are all due. Ouch!
I was just wondering if there was anything else i should be aksing the...
Spotted a fellow Trophy owner at Mallory on Sat, unfortunatley it was while I was trying to repair a snapped coolant hose so I didn't get a chance to pop over for a chat.
Anyone?
Steve
I thought that I might change the engine coolant soon, any ideas which is a god one? And how much do you need? I take it it's just a case of removing the bottom hose? Any advice would be great!
My Trophy - #433

Having now owned the Trophy for 6 weeks & 3k miles, i thought i had better put a little thread up about it ...
Basically, since October last year, id been rolling around in a Golf Gti Edition 30, which really wasnt to my taste & did shoddy mpg...
Sorry guys, but I've just got a Trophy and it seems to want to cut out all the time.
Also takes a tad long to start up in the morning, turns over a couple of seconds longer than I'd think normal.
Even once warmed up after a long drive, put it in reverse and start to move back and it'll just...
