Steve said:No more power and a bit more weight will make that difference, it's not just acceleration where a heavier car suffers, braking and cornering too, the chassis is probably more compromised too for greater interior space/safety etc.

Where did you see a 3 second difference ? If you look at the times around Donington and Oulton, they are about the same.
