Could be due to many being on the market at the moment and some people's keenness to sell quickly, thus reducing the price they're willing to accept, which has a knock on effect upon everyone else trying to sell..?
I wouldnt worry too much anyway. A few more of our cherished T's are bound to get written off this year again which will continue to make them even more of a rareity!
But in all honesty most of the T's that are being sold on here at present are looking at £7.5k mark. Always going to be more sold off in the Springtime as people make life decisions like moving house, babies etc!
I've had mine since new, just glad i wasnt one of the people who paid the full whack asking price!

What about this one? Not exactly cut price. 14k miles and has been slightly molested with a non standard exaust pipe and air box. He sold it for nearly £9k!
I'd say that was a pretty strong residual value.

My own Lancia integrale EVO1 has climbed in value some £5-8K in last two years, E30 M3's similar. One reason for this was drop in strength of pound against the Euro meaning these special LHD only cars became cheaper to buy for Euro countries, so just about all integrale's and E30 M3's that came up for sale went back to Europe. this of course had knock on effect of UK buyers having to pay more to secure a car here for themselves.
Some cars will always command a following and as such will reach a point where they will be cheap but as numbers dwindle the prices start to rise again. I believe due to the low numbers produced, and high accolades given to the cars by motoring press, Trophy's will always command a premium over other cars of similar age/price new
There are many reasons for this, mostly it's folk hitting there 30-40's and being in a position to buy the cars they could not afford to run when they were young, so buy one as a second car. By that point there's not many left from original production numbers so demand outstrips supply and values sore. Of course the less that were produced in the first place, the more they will command in the future.
You just have to look at values now of MK3 Escort RS Turbo Custom's, Sierra Cosworth's (including the Sapphire once able to buy for about £2K if not less) even unmolested Renault 5GT Turbo's are becoming more valuable. Peugeot 106 Rallye Series one is another sure fire future classic getting close to point of so many have been messed about with finding a unmolested one, or one with subtle modifications are harder and harder to find.
There are a number of reasons why cars become future classics, the trophy is not there yet its far too soon, but values will always be strong for good cars over huge number mass produced cars.

Even mine, which as far as I know is one of only three in the uk with similar mileage and condition was bought for less than your Lancia has gone up in the two years and even Renault UK haven't got one (they asked to borrow mine) similar hot hatches of tyhe same era and condition would command far higher prices.

Wonder what ever happened to the 3 Benneton R5GTT's, white with IIRC green leather interior and Benneton down the side in Green as well. And I think all on H plates, can't remember reason for them, some promotional thing.
