Can you let me know how easy it is to replace these arms.
I am mostly worried about the anti-roll bar being sprung or under load.
Many thanks for any help.

Well i fitted the new genuine renault wishbones today, and it's a million times better, in fact better than it has ever been since i've had the car!

As for fitting them, it's a bit of a ballache, the worst bit is getting the old pinch bolts out, they rust in solid, i spent about half an hour hammering away at both sides before they came out. Both were bent with the amount i'd been hitting them too!

Definitely buy new pinch bolts to fit.

The anti roll bar isn't under tension, but you do have to have both sides of the suspension off the ground for this to be true, and preferably undo both of the clamps before trying to remove a wishbone as if the clamp is on the opposite side you'll have to lever the bar down to get the new wishbone in and out.

To do the wishbone bushes up correctly you need a ramp as they need to be tightened at ride height. And then you have to refit the support brackets after that. I did it by raising the front of my car high enough to put a large concrete block under each wheel then lowering the car down onto them and crawling under.

Hope that's of use to someone...

Good stuff!

Got the toe settings done this morning, even better still. Feels weird, like a totally different car.

Just gonna take a good few weeks at least for the tyres to settle, as they will have worn slightly unevenly due to the tracking being out. Oh well!

A bit from me on this problem.

I too have suffered from the creaking (getting louder as time goes by) and so decided to follow all the advice on the forum that came to hand.
First, BG did my dampers and then my local garage have replaced the Track rod ends and o/s & n/s ball joints. Sadly, this had no effect on the creaking.
Next i replaced my top mounts (both sides), no difference, still creaking.
Finally i have changed the driveshafts (again both sides), and again nothings changed, still got my creak
BG suggested greasing the spring housing, which i did, but again i`ve still got the bloody creak.

Now i know i`ve spent around £1200 so far, and got a completely new front end suspension system (that does feel great) and it should pass its MOT! but i still have the problem.
Does anyone have any final suggestions [-o< before i admit defeat and take it to the squealer #-o

Thanks.

Not sure Ravydavygravy. It creaks when moving at slow speed with the wheels on full lock too.
Have you had your exhaust mounts changed?

Mine was more of a squeek - that was exaust mounts.

Mine has a 'judder' on full lock but i believe all 182s do that.

:D Very happy today!.

My local garage has sorted my creaking problem for me.
Apparently it was some bushes (anti roll bar) and an incorrect ball joint fitted by a local reno "specialist"! (will be going back to them for a refund).

Anyway, his name is Wayne (he is excellent with electrical probs too),
and if i`m allowed to put the company on here, you can contact him at;
