After stareing at my car whistfully for the last 18 months my next door neighbour finally decided to get rid of his workhorse and fork out for something a bit silly, one of these arrived yesterday, he didn't go for the auto even though i told him it was quicker, will have a good looksee later.

Where are you located?

A Clio Trophy is on my list of cars to get but....

FSH?
Tyres (date last ones fitted)
Date of last service.
Interior (1-10)
Bodywork (1-10)
Looked after? (be honest)
I want MINT wheels (no marks AT ALL) so if they are curbed, I'll move on. Sad I know but hey.

Love my cars and have never curbed a wheel yet!! [APART FROM THE VX] Cue me twatting one tommorow!!!

£200 would get you brand spanking wheels (cost of a good refurb on each wheel - £50)

Surely you could get knocked off the purchase value and have the car you want and mint wheels?

It does seem a little daft to reduce your options for such a trivial reason.

Car part exed

Have driven 400 miles so far this weekend for this bl*&^y car! Couldnt get hold of owner yesterday but thought "ah well, cant see it being a problem" as I had made some enquires earlier in the week. Drove from S Wales and stayed in a hotel in Buckingham for the night so I'd get back for the rugby. Had txt this morning saying the car had been traded. As I was there already I asked "Where?" which was probably a little cheeky but Id already spent £100 on fuel and hotel so was keen to at least see it. I take it Nigel took offence at this as I had no reply. Then contacted a couple of VW dealers and one said it had come in yesterday but was already sold to a trader. Asked for the traders details and was told they would ring me back.

Thought I might as well head to the dealer and see if the car was there. Got there and they denied the conversation (but confirmed the number on my call log was theirs) and said they were due to get it in but had not heard yet?

Left dazed and confused having wasted half my weekend.

Ah well, Grand Slam heaven made up for it....

Anyone else within a 100 miles want to sell me a trophy for around £8k???

At no point did we arrange a viewing .

Think with your budget, you need to be looking at 182's.

Not the trophy variety

Nig had his reasons for trading at that price but not many on here would

£8100 as an offer would of got a two word response from me 1st ? 2nd Off!

I DO NOT appreciate the "tell the truth" section!

1) Read the post "Anyone else within a 100 miles want to sell me a trophy for around £8k??? " - I am hiding nothing
2) I did not ask for photos - can provide pm if required

Would the car be available to view Sat morning? I might try to see both then. What condition are the tyres in and when is the tax due? Why use a BMW specialist?
Thanks
J
4) I dialled all afternoon and evening Friday with no reply. Voice message left between 6pm -7pm
5) Text sent 21:35pm Friday

On a separate note, why not tell a fellow car enthusiast which dealer the trophy went to? It wasnt as if I had tried to con you at any point and what did you have to lose?

While on the subject of the £8100 trophy

Example 1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0228296085 - Price agreed

Example 2 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=016

Example 3 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2005-RENAULT-CLIO ... dZViewItem
Lets see what it gets to

A car is worth what people will pay. I dont want to start this longstanding debate but I hold by the fact that its a realistic option. I have viewed several 05 plate 20-30k 182s with cup packs for £7k - I believe prices will continue to track them with a £1000-1500 premium.

Ok, probably the wrong words for this forum, but I'd appreciate not being patronised. At this rate I'll be barred from the forum before I buy one :?

At £8500 you could of had a free year or two's motoring at least.

Always my aim but what is this based on??? I have seen very little plateau'ing of prices - they are ~£2000 cheaper than this time last year. I wouldnt expect them to bottom out slightly until around £6k.

21k so likely 4 new tyres - £350
3yr service in ~6months time - Renault quote of £240 for service and £283 for aux belt.

I have had free motoring on other cars...but an 8k 3 yr old car - its unlikely quite frankly.

Hi

Service is 20k miles or 2 years

I would tend to agree with sagman and g40steve £8400-500 does seem like a bargain at the moment however prices will go down, how fast and to what level is anyones guess.
You may see a bit of a drop later in the year when they start to get out of warranty
but get one now you'll love it (tup)
