So i thought i'd finally sign up here, some of you may remember this car:
was the one there was a thread on here advising people not to buy it.
However i did work for A/C at the and decided to take the risk to get it brought into my garage to have a good look at it and decide whether i wanted...
Interesting article in the June magazine comparing the 200 cup and the 172 cup; 200 was 1.5 secs a lap quicker due to its "trick front suspension system and brakes" but the 172 was "more fun" ( I paraphrase). I believe Mr Metcalfe, who has some standing within said mag, owns a Trophy; I wonder...
...........
Had a further play with the car today and replaced other balljoint. Still shocked at how tight the holding bolt was, wondering if they were worn as very rusty!!
Took springs off struts and pushed hard on 1 of the dampers and it seemed to move in quite a bit with force. Should they...
I have just taken my Trophy into renault and got told my front shock drivers side has gone, now is it best to get a replacement from them or buy some new shocks? The replacement wil cost just under £1500. :(

Safe to say that one is dead, any advice what to replace it with? Should I just replace that one with a standard item or replace both rear shocks with Konis while im at it? Any real advantage with Konis?
Cheers
Ollie
Hey,
Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get rear suspension for trophy part number 8200 519 954. I am finding it difficult to find someone that stocks them.

I've snaped my nearside front spring. :(
Does anyone have an original one, with the correct number on it: 8200514730
I doubt the sides are different, but just in case they are then it is the nearside one I need.
Thanks
Calum
I've just suffered a broken front spring and have decided to send both front Sachs dampers down to BG Motorsport at Silverstone for a rebuild while they are off.
BG Motorsport are Eibach dealers so it would be useful if I could provide the Eibach Part No. to them rather than the Renault No...
Hi,
I need both of these rear axle and front sachs passenger shock. does anyone know where to get hold of them.
The shock is bent so cant send it off to bg motorsport and ben g said he could sell me a shock but needs rebuilding. Would be easier if i could get a shock which doesnt need...

well i have been a throphy owner for 2 days now and today its been dry enough to test the car on a few twisty sections i know like the back of my hand, i have found the trophy to feel a bit odd to be honest, on turn in it feels as tho the backend sways out but at the same time it stays planted...
Hi,
I need new dampers on my trophy and was thinking to replace them with coil overs. I have had a look at k tec and there are a few different ones. Can anyone advise which is best replacement to sachs.
I wont the car to feel same or better if possible.
Ive been reading about all the problems...
Told you I had a strange wheel question....
The Ski season's just about over now here (maybe one or two more chances but it's getting warm now) - I read in the owners manual that one cannot fit Snow Chains to the Trophy (or the 182 either I think), this is a bummer if I want to use the T to go...
Hi I am new on here and currently own trophy 128. Does anyone know what susension is on rear of the trophy. Ive heard some people say the dampers are same as clio 182 Just with different stickers.
Any ideas?
Joe
Hi All,
Have just registered on the site and thought i'd introduce myself. I don't have a Trophy just yet but I'm looking to get one in the next few months. I'm currently driving a JDM FD2 Honda Civic Type R which I imported approx 18 months ago. The car's an absolute cracker but unfortunately...
Hi guys, I currently have a 3.0i Z4 and Im looking to downgrade (price wise) to free up a little cash I have sitting in my car. Starting to save for a house.
I was looking at 182's for around the £5.5k mark. However this Trophy has caught my eye...

Hi everyone, just bought a T last week and am getting to know it a bit (and modding it too); have most info I need thanks to the forum but have a silly question - what is the little blob beneath the passenger side door mirror ? - looks like some sort of sensor but I'm not sure....
So far I've...
2005 (55) Renaultsport Clio 182 Trophy.
I am the second owner of the car, which I purchased at 19,500 miles. Currently just gone past 40,000 Miles. The car has been very reliable throughout its life and has been a pleasure to own. I drive the Trophy most days and always make sure the engine...
Renault / Sachs Race Engineering front dampers brand new in Renault box. Not refurbed ones.
Selling them since I finally decided to buy a full Trophy kit (front + back dampers package) for my car.
Looking for £1000 for the 2 front dampers, given that they sell around £1200 each new from...
Hi All...Hope you had a great Chrimbo.
I was sent this way by two helpful guys on Renaultsport (P.B Trophy & Roystinho) as i'm looking to get rid of my current 182 (Long story why) for poss a Trophy.
Just wondered if there was anything i had to look out for different to a standard 182 - If i...
Hi, im new here :D
Ive stumbled across a Trophy at my local dealer, and i quite like it! Having read alot about them over the last couple of days ive begun to like it more so!
I drive a Civic Type R at the moment and so would like something a bit less common i suppose.
So do i swap this...
Would it be an idea to flag up any Trophys spotted / for sale without Sachs Dampers? I've heard some cavalier views about the dampers and fitting coilovers instead. Maybe a register of Trophy horrors.
I have always fancied doing this but I think I've watched too many of these.......

Hi Guys,
I'm from ClioSport and we're desperately trying to get 30 people on board to get a cheap Top Mount deal from Kam Racing.
The GB spans a few owner's sites:
- ClioSport
- Williamsclio
- Clio16valver
These are the items...
I've noticed recently that on full lock when parking my T it seems to make a knocking sound. I think it might be a tipical C.V. joint stretching sound on full lock? I do need to get both the front struts serviced ASAP could it be anything to do with them? Any ideas what it could be?
A suitable upgrade for the track orientated Trophy owner or just any road driver that wants the extra adjustability these dampers offer.
These are the Sportline II's not the cheaper sportline I's that most people fit, the main difference is the 45mm diameter front piston, enables more precise...
Hi,
Just got my sachs back from being refurbished and I would like to repaint them as they have a couple spots of surface rust (unsuprising really). Anybody done this themselves? if so what did you use and and how did you do it?
Cheers
