Hello I am off to the Nurburgring with Circuit Days on the 27th - 30th July and while looking at the amazing list of expensive cars going I noticed a couple of Renaults. In particular a Trophy!!
Is it anyone on here?
Right, after a couple of runs with Cue & 7Mat (big thanks) on Sun.
Been looking at track events at Donington.
Can get £139 all day sessioned or £199 open pit lane, is there any benefit to either??
Any discounts available?
Any advice welcomed :D
Yes, as I'm sure you know, I spent last Thursday - Monday in France with just me, my truly wonderful girlfriend, and the Clio. Oh, and lots of French people.
Here is my trip in pictures:

:?: Hello peeps, i need some advice. I have a rather boring 03 plate renault kangoo van for work which im happy to say will be going at the end of next month. I have wanted a clio for the past 6 years, ever since my brother in law had an old 172. I am torn between a trophy or a black 182? I love...

I'm drowning in stupidity over there. Someone talk some sense into those people who think the Trophy would corner better if it didn't cock a rear wheel under hard braking and cornering. Include some pictures of FWD race cars doing the...
out of interest, how does the trophy suspension compare with a clio 182 on aftermarket coilovers say H&R's.
which is likely to perform better.
If nobody knows then I will let you know what the answer is because me and some friends are doing a trackday...obviously my trophy, a 172 cup on...
Quick update on this one:
- ITG Panel Filter done
- Cold Air Feed & Removal of acoustic valve (this to be followed by an ITG Maxogen at some point)
- Better Horn (something a kin to an alpine bus) bought, about to be fitted- Lightweight & Strong racing wheels – ET45, 15†or...
Hi
Just like to say a big THANKS to Graham at stockport for the superb job he did on mine yesterday.
The screen was that clear I thought he'd taken it out
Got lots of "wow thats looks clean !" on motorway journey home (tup)
Well worth a visit.
Car running on 15s with Toyo 888 track tyres and Brembo grooved discs at Mondello International Circuit.
Track was greasy and the Trophy was able to mix it with the quick stuff ie 111Rs and Exiges.
What's the most anyone's had out of their Trophy? A friend recently borrowed mine and said he took it up to 155mph with his dad in the passenger seat and felt like it still wanted to go even faster! I know the speedometer reads 160mph but I found this hard to believe as the spec notes top speed...
Reading some of the posts lately by people casually dropping things about the car like being able to disable the RAID by holding the switch down, checking the oil level electronically (a gem) and pulling the seat base forward, I thought there may be some other useful nuggets that all owners may...
just decided to phone up and order the Spax lowering springs for the trophy (20mm) but they have been discontinued due to a lack of sales??? lol
Not being funny but i said to the guy that there are only a percentage of the 551 or so trophys in the world that are gonna want to lower them...
05/05 6,300m.
Bought Aug 06, now the second owner.
Got used to the 'tomato' now, handling is out of this world on my way to work down wet, greasy b roads.
Treated it too, ITG, boot net & shelf (bloody great) spare turini, silvervisions, soon to have wiper arm mod & lube & filter change.
My brother and i are off to the Nurburgring in early November.
Going to be hitting the 'ring hard for 2 days straight and was just wondering how people reckon the trophy will deal with this punishment on the car and the brakes especially?
I'm lucky enough to own a CSL but really wanna take the...

Did my first trackday yesterday and i have to say that i enjoyed it even more than i expected too so i am counting the days down to the next one. I do have a few questions though for you guys that have done more than one and have upgraded their cars.
My trophy is standard and i thought the...
Got home, wife laughed, looked in mirror bright red!!
Big thanks to everyone i met, esp pacey spent most of day with you. :D
16 trophy's in one space looked good.
8 or 9 in line going round track!! :P
I now know why you all rave about these cars
Hi,
Booking car in for service and enquired about prices if I provide my own oil. Woman tried telling me I need 5.5 litres of oil. I've done a search on past threads and I can't find any mention of needing more than 5 litres. The oil change guide in the forum suggests you only need 4.75...
As a newbie on here ive currently got a Lotus Exige S1 as a weekend toy and an Alfa Romeo 156 as my daily driver but am thinking of ditching it for a 182 or Trophy but was just wondering how comfortable a Trophy would be doing 20k miles a year up and down motorways?
Hi there need alittle help please wanting to go on a track day (first time).
Ive got these choices

Taking over from Pete G's post in the number plate thread, how does everyone use their ESP? (no responses about extra sensory perception please! )
Day to day driving, I just leave it on, you never know when you may need it's assitance (oil on the roads etc).

I took some time off work, was supposed to be doing some sensible stuff round the place. Kind of got side tracked, but said side track may of more interest to this forum.
Following from previous threads about camber adjustment amongst other things.

I think it will interesting to see how many owners have taken their Trophy's on track, or are planning to, this may be organised track days, airfields, private tracks, drag strips, race events or the Nurburgring. I'm going to be taking mine soon, so at the moment it's a track virgin...
Edit -...
As I had today off work I decided to modify the air-intake system on my Trophy by removing the air-valve located near the horn to see what would happen as most after-market CAI on the market (ITG Maxogen & Viper etc) recommend removing the valve on installation.
To my surprise the cars feels...
