It really depends on condition, history and type of road driven on.

My Trophy senses say £10.5k private.

I'd say that was probably a bit strong - if someone was to offer me that for mine now I think I'd probably take it (55 plate/ 20.5k miles)

Personally I'd reckon that given the milage, you'd be looking at dipping under the 10k mark :(

Sorry, that last post sounded really negative! Just had a quick look on the trader and it seems cars (albeit with lower milage) are being priced a bit higher than I expected - just goes to show how keen the prices are at allvehicles!

prices are all over the place at the moment...... i would say somewhere near to 10k I expect - I have spent a fair few weeks studying prices whilst waiting for my insurance payout!

I'd say advertise for £10.5k and take £10.1k minimum. Allvehicles may disagree with me though... but he is the expert so as soon as he gives his opinion you can discount mine!!! :p 8)

Start high, you can always lower your price.

Not a good time to be selling though.

Agree with first point, but not the second, the auctions have gone MENTAL the last week with very high conversion rates and % of CAP. A Clio Trophy is always a desirable car - see the MSN road test last week as a recent example of giving it a good plug. there's never many for sale. I would be thinking maybe around £50 per 1000 miles as an adjustment, but the problem with my sales are the part exchanges cloud what the real achieved values are - I've been taking some heavy metal recently and that doesn't sell quickly to derive the nett Trophy sales value - I know what I would like to have made but will have to see. Anything over £10000 would be good going.

Hi i just bought 002 / 500 from all vehicles around the end of December it had 1 former keeper and 9100 miles and has had its fitst 12000 miles service that wasent stamped in the book. I paid £10995 for this car and traded in a 2006 Focus ST for it.

Id therefore say that its gotta be allot less than £10995k price i paid.
I would estimate a price of around £10000 or under as that millage is very high for a 05 reg car.
The millage might put some people of buying it. As i wanted 1 with under 10,000 miles.

Plus as mine is number 2 out of 500 its the first car that went on the for sale market by Renault when they came out, this may mean it holds slightly more money than others and has been used in features about the Trophy such as Autocar mag.
Well i hope so anyway.!!!!!!

i don't think the number of the car is going to make any difference to the value of the car.... it's a limited run of 500 cars and nothing yet has indicated price differences based on the number

I agree with the above as it is one of the first and therefore on an 05 plate, plus the cars owned by renault have seen quite a bit of track work.

Yea well im not sain that it will hold more money than any others. This is what STEVE at allvehicles said when i bought it he said you could have it 2 years put 8000 miles on it and sell it with 17000 miles. I will not loose that much money on the car as he rekons it will always stay above the £10,000 price tag because its (NUMBER 002) the first 1 sold by Renault and with his 27 years car sales experience and car sales knowledge i dont think you can argue with him.

Plus mine has had no Track day fun being owned by Renault. I looked into this before i bought it.
And to be honest these cars are not exactly bought by your old reteired penshioner. They are bought by people who are into cars, and like driving them fast.
It would be extremley hard, if not impossible to find a Trophy that had not had a caining at some point in its life unless you bought it from new and drove it like a retired penshioner.

One if my best mates has an early RS500 Sierra Cosworth which is in immaculate condition with 27000 miles from new although this car is completly different to a Trophy in cost and age there is one similarity with them, there were only 500 of them made.
With allot or RS500's being written of or stolen in the past 20 years there are less of them around now. My mates car is worth more now than it was new which proves my point exactly.

My dealer reckoned the Trophy would still be worth 10k after 3 years, doesn't mean I believed him though!

Keep 002 tidy and think you'd never have trouble selling it, though I'm not sure it would command much more that the later numbers.

I just lost a reply to this and I'm not typing again. You broadly quoted me, my analogy was the 20 yr old RS500 being the same now as then if excellent cond. Also a four year old 18000 mile Trophy would be a low mileage car and command a high price. You only have to picture one all polished up and ready to go at £9995 alongside say a 97R Integra for £7995. These are specialist cars, a unique market and more specialist I would argue than (say) a Williams.

broadly speaking and to contradict myself i'd pay more for number 500 than i would 002..... it's newer and the last one off the line

Yea right 3 months difference in age from start to finish BIG DEAL. Mine was registered on June 21st 2005 and they ended around the end of Sep 2005 so 3 months is a real long time.
Plus if you would rather take number 500 with say 20-40k miles which has had a number of accidents and owners, or a low number Trophy thats on its second owner that is mint with 9500 miles.
Id have to agree that paying more money for a car with more miles, owners and in worse condition sounds like you really no what your going on about.!!!!!!! NOT.
