Will put the Old middle silencer on the car tommorow. Car is too loud to drive between
3-4000 Rpm. Completely rubbish. There is something wrong with the "New"
front silencer. It does not make any silence.

My bill says: "centre pipe" not front silencer.
Is it the same at yours??

I haven't got around to installing mine yet, but looking at my invoice I see that it says "Scorpion RS192 Centre Pipe" (see picture below). Is this what you mean?

The pipe in its packaging looks like this - does the "Centre Pipe" you received look the same?

Yes! It is exactly the same.
Does the discription in the pipes packaging say silencer?

I wrote an Email to whybee and they told me that this is the
new official Scorpion silencer and that I should use it for
1000 more miles. But I already used it 800 miles on Cross Country and
fast and highspeed (flat out) Autobahn and the sound
got boomier and boomier. You really get a headache after
30 Minutes. My mate has a 182 with the Old system and everything
is fine.
I am completely disappointed by this "new silencer." Thought it would be
an improvement but untill now this only is sh...
And I am not willing to spent one more hour in my car driving like this.

I haven't opened the packaging as yet, but it definitely says "494RN Front Silencer" (see photo below). The "Front Silencer" does look very different to the one shown on their web site. Wonder why they changed the design?

This is very disappointing since I too am not a fan of the midrange boom, or excessive noise, generated by such exhausts. The original RS192 seemed perfect from that perspective. Would be interested to know what you decide to do.

Anybody else have any issues?

Today my friend (mechanic) and I solved the problem.
1. We took the new Scorpion RN494 "Silencer" Off the Car.
2. Then we cut a 2,5centimetre long piece off from the pipe
of the Scorpion silencer at the end that connects the Scorpion
silencer with the Scorpion back Box.
3. Then we took this piece (looks like an oversized ring) and put
it on the back end of the OEM Renault Centre Box (silencer) in order
to use it as an adapter which connects
the centre box with the back box.
4. Then we connected the improved Renault OEM Centre box with
the Scorpion back box. Fitting was ok.
5. Then we tied the clamps (scorpion ones) and adjusted the back
box.
6. We Started the car and went on a test drive.
Dear God. This sound is just perfect. A burble at idle (a bit like a rally
car) and when you push there is a rasp. So spot on.

So to sum up I am running a Renault Centre box (silencer) with a 2,5cm broad
adapter part created by myself from the Scorpion "silencer" at the end that gets
connected to the back box. The Back box is Scorpion.

All in all I drove 150 Cross Country Miles today without a headache or other problems.

I cannot understand why Scorpion sells this piece of junk as a silencer. The former silencer
was spot on and I feel as if they have taken the mickey out of me. I will sent an mail to whybee
and a complaint to Scorpion. You cannot sell the 192 system with the new silencer. This thing
ruins the whole product and your fun. So Scorpion why in the world do you do this? And why does
a customer have to built its own silencer? Please then better sell the
backbox with an adapter for the OEM silencer.

My hint to everyone who hates boomy and noisy exhaust:
Leave the silencer in the packaching, sent it back to
And ASK them to sent the Old one.
As they won't supply go and grab a pipe of the size of the
scorpions silencer ending make a 3cm adapter and then
do the same like me.
If you put the new Scorpion Silencer on you will learn to hate your Clio!

I wrote a message to Scorpion two days ago. They told me that they will check the new silencer on a test car and that if they find that my problem occurs to theim, too, they will sent me a new front silencer for free. They were surprised that I was not satisfied with the
"sound" of the system and that their homepage shows a different silencer from the one I and Lankan received.... I will keep you updated.

Based on your feedback I too emailed the company concerned and received a reply today which states the following:
"Scorpion have just made a new design for the front silencer as we were having problems with the old one cracking on some cars

You are the one of the first batch to try the new silencer!"

Now I wasn't aware that I was going to receive a new design, and from the response you received, it seems that the front silencer is not production ready!

Question: Is everybody else happy with their exhaust?

Hi Lankan

Did you Email Whybee or Scorpion?
I received this massage at first from Scorpion as well.
But then I insisted and now they check the new silencer.

I emailed Whybee, since they seem to be the point of contact as regards the RS192 is concerned. I did respond to their email and stated that, based on the feedback so far, I would not accept the front silencer, and, if they cannot supply me a unit that matches the sound and characteristics of the original set up, I would be looking to return the whole system for a full refund. I used the Evo Diaries video as a reference to the 'original system'. Awaiting a reply.......

Interested in this system however don't want something boomy and drony. If I contact them and request the old silencer will they provide this at the same price?

No, it is not produced anymore because they had problems with it cracking. I am a bit angry...

Hi All

I've been out of the UK for a little while and just seen the additions to this thread. Not had chance to have my exhaust fitted yet and not keen on doing so if the result is going to be too loud or boomy. I am going to email whybee.

Anyone else have any issues after fitting?

Cheers Mark

I think what we need is feedback from those who have fitted the cat back system with then "new" front silencer. Whybee claim that they have sold over 50, and no negative feedback has been received.

As such, if those on this Group Buy could provide their feedback that will be great. If you can also post up videos that will be even better.

Hi, I know it's a long shot but I thought it would be worth a try!
My backbox on my Trophy gave up on route into work this morning & it now sounds like a chav-tastic Saxo :-( Not good...
I've phoned Renault who have given me a price of £600.00 for the backbox only & £798.00 supply & fit.
They must think I came down in the last shower.
Checked ebay to no avail...
Has anyone got a standard backbox they wish to part company with?
Or has anyone got any suggestions?
If you could let me know I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Caroline.

Hi

I currently have a yozzasport fitted and its too loud for me. If I purchased the genuine exhaust above would it be a straight swap back to original or would I need additional parts?

Thanks
