Have you contacted Jeremy Townsend via the Renaultsport site? I think he's pretty good at getting stuff done when it's dragged on for too long.

11 weeks without my car and my blood would have boiled dry, I would ask for a replacement Trophy or 197 in the mean time.

Someone would have lost their life by now at the dealership - mate get on to JT. Ask for a Meggy 230 or 197 F1 as a test mule until they fix the Trophy.

oh, believe me i have tried.

The delearship has not got any renault sports to give and they are not authorised ..... Ren Uk does not give a sh!t and leaves that side of it in the delears hands. As long as you are given a car that works, they do not care.

I am on the phone to ren uk every 3 or 4 days, blood boiled dry weeks ago.

Now going to take them to small claims court.

I will never ever ever have another renault again !!!

Even the mighty Jeremy Townsend seems to be struggling with this one...... over a week and the only thing he can tell me is that he has not forgotten about me.

Oh well, lawyers are involved now..... here we go.....

Hello everyone,
As this is my trophy you are all chatting about I thought I would add my bit.
Trophy still broke. Sitting at Dealers for 15 weeks now. :(
No idea when they are going to fix it or even if they CAN fix it. :?
Renault UK have been unhelpfull.
Now driving an even worse courtesy car. (1.2l clio with brake judder)
Feeling really fed up and spent most of last night in tears of frustration about it (pretty girly I know but hey I think these extreme circumstances warrant a little cry)

I Put the frustration to some good use today and wrote letters of complaint to Renault UK's Managing Director, Director & Head of Customer Services, Arnold Clark (both Dealerships have been arnold clark) I also sent off a round of e-mails to places such as evo, autocar, watchdog etc etc. Feel a bit better but just wondering if they will have any effect??
I think my hubby (nitro) and I have just been too understanding and polite about the whole thing, maybe if we were a little more evil, things would have happened faster? what do you reckon - which approach works better nice or evil?
Anyway any advice or just moral support would be appreciated.
trophychick.

horrendous for you, how totally inconsiderate, theyre almost punishing you for
their cock-ups

its gotta be foot down time now.
perfect example
My Sister (soft and too nice) had her meggy serviced (1st service) last week.
picking it up her hubby spotted a scratch on the boot. she goes back in and tells them, they pretty much fob her off, even laughing when she comments the car has been pretty much parked in a hedge!

in goes her hubby, a DS in the police who knows how to get his point across........

Certainly sir we are very sorry, we'll fix it straight away. bunch of @@@@@@!

Give em hell, a nice stiff solictors letter will hopefully help sort this nightmare.
surely the factory can make a new 1 to the exact spec of the other 500 they did!!

all the best

Sorry to hear about your hassles with the car - hope you get it all resolved shortly.

Firstly i think you are right to keep on at Arnold Clark - they owe you some sort of compensation at least for their incompetency.

In the meantime though, as someone else suggested, it might be worth speaking to someone like Ren-tech etc that might be able to offer some info or advice on the tecnical side of the problem. I know they are almost at the other end of the country from you but if you explain the situation they might be able to help with honest advice at least - everyone on here trusts them with their cars and rates them highly.

I'd also think about taking the car to another garage too - i know it might be too much to ask finding a 'good' Renault dealer but surely you can find a better one somewhere reasonably close? Possibly speak with the service manager beforehand, explain the situation and get a feel for what the guy and garage might be like.

The only non Arnold Clark garage i can think of are the Parks Renault Dealers but it might be good to post on here or Cliosport and see if anyone can recommend others.

I'd also post on RenaultSport.co.uk detailing all this, theres always a slim chance it might do some good.

Hi there,
Ren-tech may be a good move, I will get my hubby on that side of things.

We had word yesterday that Reanult france have admitted that there is no part number for the Trophy wiring loom and it has to be made from scratch - how it has Taken 15 weeks to come to that conclusion I have no idea. I hope no-one else needs one any time soon!
I'm not sure about changing dealer how do you go about doing that? I mean practiclally -the car does not go so I assume I would have to have it towed - who pays for that? I'm not really sure if that will help either. Sorry for being dense - all this hassle is seriously affecting my brain power and will to live.

Another question - has anyone had problems with renault and managed to get some compensation? If so how did that work and what did you get? I have a horrible feeling they will try to fob us off with a valet or something, which really just won't cover it in my eyes.

Thanks for the help if i remember any more important info I will post soon.

Tdc sensor about £10 they cause all sorts of problems, mainly starting & idling issues.

About 30mins to swap over tops, one of the sensors that the managment uses to determine time for ignition.

Top Dead Centre sensor.

I would get them to change it anyway as if it it the cause i would want a 2 week holiday in the sun somewhere for what you have suffered.

Won't stop the car starting, just won't put fuel in to the cylinder at the correct point! Very bad for performance, economy and engine longeivity.

I know of several 172 & 182 that would not start, new tdc & hay presto back to life.

My just effect renaults.
