At £4K with belts done, it's a bargain, history or no history. If the number plate has the supplying dealer's name on it, you may be able to get some of the receipts from them (or even previous owner(s) may be able to help).
I believe engines are pretty strong on 182s and if it drives well, go for it Gorilla.
It's not like lower mileage ones with history don't require annual services and routine maintenance work!

Enjoy it and it'll be worth a couple of grand all day long in a few years time. So you lose £2,000 in depreciation over 3 or 4 (maybe more) years. A no brainer really.

I bought at the other end of the spectrum and in the same period, mine's going to halve in value unless it truly is a classic :).

Have you offered it to DS Cars in Staffs? They're Renaultsport specialists and would surely give you what you're after for it. http://www.dscars.co.uk/60940/index.htm

yup sold to ds cars, 5 mins away from me

So you took my advice then(?)!
As for their markup, I suppose they would say they had to prep it etc. It is odd though isn't it, the very same car could have been had for £4K, maybe even less :). Bizarre.

That car needed minimal prep I'd say. If someone walks in and pays £5250 for it then it'll be the easiest £1250 they've ever made. Good luck to 'em I guess!!
