cam belt change

booked my car in on tuesday for cambelt kit, auxilary belt kit and water pump(all genuine)

i spoke to mr hill power himself on the mobile and he said the lads that used to work for him have taken over

yeah Nick at Hillpower has stopped now, he goes into rensport occasionally to help out, but he works on Barges now somewhere else.

got my car back from rensport today and really really happy with the work they did on my car

turns out the belt had been changed recently and not very well done, looks like the previous owner(lady) was not a very enthusiastic owner and just simply let a normal garage do a pretty gash job on it, didnt even replace the tensioners and rollers etc and i was told its a good thing i took it in cause it looks like the cam belt was a disaster waiting to happen, timing was 1 tooth out too!

anyway i say again i had the cambelt kit, auxillary belt kit and water pump(the one on the car was on its way) and i am very happy with the work they done, will be going back for a brake upgrade and full service in the next couple of hundred miles

My cambelt will be done tomorrow along with the water pump. FY55 has done 53k miles and is 5 years old in October, but I am not taking any chances - I do drive it hard.

I am considering having the Milltek exhaust with decat fitted and an ITG Maxogen induction kit fitted as well.

hope all goes well for you, but yes piece of mind is great getting the cam belt done lol! where i live theres some nice nice roads for some spirited driving but i always give it time to warm up first

im not planning on any major mods on mine, want to keep it quite standard but a few subtle mods to improve the car will be carried out, ie brakes
