Hello Guys joined up after seeing the sticker in the back of my new trophy i picked up from Ely just over a week and a half ago.
Who ever used to have it must be on here and must have looked after it , its tip top and i love it , i have had lots of cards , turbo non turbo vxr's and this is well...
bit a weird one, but here goes....
many months ago i had the bonnet catch replaced by renault under warrenty (basically, went for a service, got it back, bonnet wouldnt open etc etc!)
ever since this was done the bonnet doesnt quite 'sit right' - bonnet is slightly higher than the wings and...
Curiosity got the better of me so I decided to strip down my spare damper to see the inner workings and also see if I could find out why it had gone ‘soft’.
I really had no idea what to expect as ive never seen the insides of a Remote Reservoir Damper before but I did have a picture in my head...
I've never been happy with the seating position due to the height the Recaros are mounted at so I took the passenger seat out at the weekend to see if anything could be done to lower it.
It appears that the seat height could be lowered by a couple of inches by swapping the mounting frames for...
If you buy this mag, you'll soon read that Harry's T has had re-furbed front shocks. Seems the front as "corkscrewing". One had lost it's gas the other had a slight oil leak. His cars only done 16000 miles. Am guessing a lot of those were hard miles?!
Noticed the other day the passenger side front damper has already been 'unpinned' however went to look at the driver side damper and noticed it hadn't been done. This is beacause the pin is directly in-line with the grubscrew making the grubscrew inaccessable!! How are you meant to get the pin...
Hi
sorry I have some problems understanding English,
about the removal of the pin, in the posts I have found some pics and many info, it is not clear what must be removed, also some questions:
- must be removed only the pin visible on the top sid of the red piece (named dial?)?
- to remove the...
Hi fella's
I know this has been covered many times but does anyone have any clear pictures of the thumb wheel preferably with it removed if not any close ups would be good.
Also the strut top mount bearings, how much if any play should there be in them as the ones on mine look like they have...
Right as an owner of a Trophy for the last few months we have all seen the horror stories surrounding the front dampers & the costs from the stealers involved in replacing them.
Whilst looking into the dampers, you soon realise why they are 'so' good. Not your usual bolt on upgrade, but top...
Have just spoken to Rentech in Portsmouth about my Trophys hard ride. I love the car but using it every day, sometimes its just too hard. They have said that they can remove the pins from the dampers which will make the ride softer, however they have not had any feed back from the few trophys...
My passenger seat has been doing a bit of rattling which can be quite irritating. I've had a look underneath to try and diagnose the problem and it seems that on one side where the rails join it is a bit lose i.e. there is a small bit of play between the rail attached to the seat and the rail...

Hi all,
I think the 197 steering wheel is nicer than the 182's! Has anyone fitted a 197 steering wheel to a 182 or know if it is possible? Does it obscure the dials too much as it seems smaller? Do the cruise control functions work?
Kind regards
Dom
As one of the embarrassed enthusiasts who in trying to unpin the adjuster managed to break the adjuster shaft, I have just taken them off the car for reconditioning.
The good news is that they were easy to remove and that the strut top nut (21 mm) was not difficult to undo. The top mount...
Went to see Yozza this morning for some new brakes......not really tested them yet but they did a good job. 8)
So when I got home I thought i'd make my dampers adjustable. Tried to remove the grub screw from the drivers side and it would not budge. Even after plenty of easing fluid and a...
Whilst fitting my new Yozza Brembo / Ds2500 pack this afterrnoon, i thought it would be the perfect time to whip out my damper pins.
Quickly got the passenger side done, undid the grubscrew, levered the cap off, knocked the pin upwards and refitted the cap, hey presto!!
However, when i...
.......so wheres the best place to buy the 'proper' intermittant stalk?
i've checked ebay but no luck so far and i remember people where paying around £20 from some place.
any ideas?
cheers.
BTW - I've just hit the 10k mark!
out of interest, how does the trophy suspension compare with a clio 182 on aftermarket coilovers say H&R's.
which is likely to perform better.
If nobody knows then I will let you know what the answer is because me and some friends are doing a trackday...obviously my trophy, a 172 cup on...
Just been to put some more miles on No:479
I know these are suposed to be great track cars (and I will hopefully find out next year) but WOW, this thing handles bumpy backroads like a fully prepped rally car. 8)
The wheel and body control are excellent! for such a small car the handling...
