Thought I'd update on my progess, having had a look at some 182's and pricing up what would need to be spent shortly, tyres, servicing etc I nipped down to my local dealer to see what the 200's were like and what kind of money they were. Only had one there which I asked to drive, Salesman had to...
Thanks Rex I'll take a look
Regarding the colour it's totally personal opinion. I can spot a Trophy a mile off, but to non petrol heads I guess it just looks like a modded red clio.
Nope nope nope :)
I wouldn't mind that much about an MX5, great drivers car, a bit girly yes, i'd go for another S2000 though If i went down that route.
To be fair it's not a 'bad' car at all, it's just totally against the norm of what I've driven before. I have a Jeep Patriot....*tumble...
Good to see so many familiar names :D
I'm sort of embarrassed to say what I'm driving now, no idea why i bought it, screw lose at the time so won't mention what it is :)
There's about 5-6 on pistonheads at the moment, just trying to find a mint one with as low miles as possible.
Rex yours...
Hello boys and girls, I'm back again on the lookout for a Trophy, let me know if you know of any gooduns! :)
Who's still around from the original days?
Cheers Johnny, never got round to coming to see you but I did meet up with a guy from the 197 forum who gave me an impressive test drive. Which roll on end of December I should be in a white 197, woohoo. Just gotta sell the 350z now!
Choices choices, i've been looking into the 197 recently, it's growing on me lots. I just need to go drive one again. The first one i drove I couldn't really see what the fuss was about but it did only have 100 odd miles on the clock
R26 is the Megane isn't it? I love everything about them but the rear! I just couldn't do it. I've thought about the 197 but I wouldn't exactly be saving much money, only on the fuel.
You still have yours then Johnnytheboy? Fancy letting me come look at it and see if there as good as I remember? :D
Hello chaps :)
Some may remember me, I'm not sure who's around from when I bought mine when the Trophy 1st launched.
I had 297/500 for 8500 joyful miles, since then I've had a heap of cars of varying style. S2k/Audi TT/Integra DC5/Tuned Cooper S and now currently a Nissan 350z GT with a fruity...

I went to the launch day at alan day for the civic, spent ages oogling over it, truly a great car. Drove one at my local dealer and wasn't that impressed with the performance, probably because it just feels a lot smoother and refined. Nice car though, I'd get one over the 197 though
It always comes down to what someone is prepared to pay for it, not what you think it's worth. If you can afford to hold on and wait for a better price then do it, but you may find if you decline an offer you can be waiting for weeks/months afterwards to sell it, in which case it's just getting...
Find it hard to remember myself.
My car history has gone..
1.4 Astra, 1.6 Focus, Subaru wrx, Honda s2000, BMW 325ci, Clio Trophy, Mini Cooper S works, Honda S2000 GT, Mini cooper s.
The mini has been the only car I've never lost money on funnily enough, actually made a few hundred :D...
'Had' yes :)
Add this up. Wet bumpy road + fox from hedge + swerve + grass =
They wrote it off in the end, it was back in April, only just had the cheque through last week. Very suspicious though, the car was no where near damaged enough to be written off, and I just so happened to see...
