Hi Everyone,

Just joined the forum and finally in a position to buy a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] car. Looking for a good condition Trophy (isn’t everyone!) and have a healthy budget to spend on the right car depending on condition, history etc. Ideally less then 60k miles. If anyone can be tempted to part with theirs or thinking about it in the near future, please PM me. I’m based in the Berkshire area and can travel within reason.

I’ve looked at the ones currently advertised on the market but nothing caught my eye.

Thanks

Mark

Hi, Thanks for letting me know. Why are all the cars so far away??? ;-)

That's what I found when I bought my first T! I must have done the best part of 1000 miles looking at them and finally bought one from Bristol then 6 months later one came up 2 miles away that I just had to have instead.

Although frustrating Its worth doing a bit of travelling to find a nice one!

i drove half way across the country to get mine, well worth it though :D

Annoyingly one came up locally (10 miles) but dealer was never around as seemed to be winding down, then it mysteriously disappeared after I left a note for him. Very odd. Obviosly wasn't meant to be.

im considering selling mine, spent about 2500 alone on paint, front dampters refurbed lasst week, new rear sachs dampers, whiteline arb, camber bolts, pms top mount/strut brace, new wishbones, new arb droplinks, new rack, new thermostat, new inner track rods, new outer track rods, nearly new sportline springs on the back (have the fronts as well but they arent a suitable spring rate for the sachs dampers), new front discs and mintex pads, new rear discs/bearing + pads, pioneer head unit and uprated speakers + yanoo stiff shift kit (yet to be fitted) steering wheel has also been re trimmed. The car has 1 previous owner (the guy had more money than sense and serviced it at a porsche specialist) The only negatives are a 2cm tear in the driver seat and the mileage is just shy of 110k, because of this im looking for 5k. let me know if your interested or have any questions!

Not to be rude but my only question is are you serious? I've seen mint ones with less than 50k on go for £4k recently

5k is a huge asking price for 110k, but to me mileage is irrelevant, engines can last 170k+ if looked after, Sir_Daves is a perfect example.

Havent checked the market recently, just had a look and 5k isnt looking hopeful to be fair. I thought seeing as every part of the suspension has been replaced/refurbed/uprated and its had pretty much a full re spray I was in with a chance of getting 5k but never mind! where would you price it in the market?

From what I've seen, the low mileage Trophy's tend to be the ones that haven't been properly looked after. Yet people are still prepared to pay a premium just because they have low miles...... crazy!

It's actually scary how quickly you can spend a couple of grand to get them running right if previous owners have neglected servicing. Most people don't realise this until they've bought one though!

Contra, taking into account the work you have done, I'd put it up between £4,500 - £5,000. If your in no rush to sell, you should get it, or thereabouts. Fortunately, some people buy on condition and know these cars are good well past 110k (if looked after).

It might also be worth removing mods, such as the Whiteline RARB and PMS top mounts and strut brace. These are desirable mods that will sell very easily, yet probably do nothing for the overall value of your car.
