Unfortunately, the time has come where I can't put this off any longer, it is with great regret that I am offering my Trophy up for sale.

I need a 5 door car, as running my 16 month old daughter around in the back is just not practical, and with a long term back injury, I find it painful getting her in and out. My commute mileage is also going to increase as I no longer lift share, so 80 miles a day means a diesel is really the best bet.

We have now found a car locally which we want to buy, but they offered a laughable amount for part exchange for the Trophy, so I need to sell it privately, as quickly as possible, instead.

Number 026 of 500, 55 reg, 64,800 miles. This will increase as I have an 80 mile a day commute.

MoT until 6th Oct 2011
Tax until 31st Aug 2011

I have owned it for 17 months now, and have covered about 22k in that time. I am the 4th owner.

Details are as follows:

Cambelt and aux belts changed at 35,023

Serviced at:
14677 - Renault Colchester
28709 - Renault Letchworth
35,023 - Angelworks, Kimbolton
49,005 - Ivan Barrett, Warboys
58k - Serviced by me, prior to trackday which didn't happen in the end. Book not stamped. I will get serviced by my indy again before sale if I get close to my asking price.

Michelin PE2 tyres fitted all round. Fronts are about due for a change, rears still good.

Front discs and pads changed in April this year
Rear discs and pads - I have bought these, but have yet to fit them. I will include them in the sale.

The dampers have not been reconditioned yet. This is reflected in the price.

Exterior:
- Yozzasport cat back exhaust. For those not familiar with this exhaust, it is not quiet!
- Numbered Trophy graphic on bootlid, and small Trophy graphic on bonnet (bought from this forum) -could be removed if wanted.
-Overall good condition, some stone chips to front end as expected.
-Small dent on off side rear quarter, just behind driver's door, caused by another car's door in a car park. Grrr
-4 very good condition Turinis - No kerbing marks at all
-No front splitter, due to a small rabbit related incident driving back from a night shift a while ago. I've been meaning to get a Fabia one, but haven't got round to it.

Interior:
-Good condition in general
-Some 'melting' to steering wheel, as is common with 182 wheels
-aux input lead wired into glove box
-Alloy footrest plate (Made by Davo172 on this forum, could be removed no problem)
-cargo net fitted in boot

Comes with 2 keys.
I still have the original tyre repair foam cans, in their original pouch.
I also have the original accident management pack, including pen, crayon and disposable camera, and a paint touch-up kit, which has never been used.
I will also include a Cliosport bottle opener keyring!

I will get some pictures uploaded as soon as possible, once I've given it a clean inside and out.

I am looking for £4600 ono. I would love to tuck it up in the garage to keep as a weekend toy, but I just don't have the time or money for that now we have a daughter - kids, eh!?

Please call or text me on 07711 342583 or e-mail me on andypfsmith AT hotmail DOT com for any more information. Car is in Warboys, Cambridgeshire, but could be viewed near Downham Market/Kings Lynn as I work in that direction.

I think it came off worse to be honest! It was one of those classic swerve left, rabbit goes left, swerve right, rabbit goes right, BANG moments! I was not impressed!

I have finally found time to give the car a quick polish and get some photos taken. I've had a few busy weekends up to now! The car I had planned to buy before was sold the next day, but I finally found and bought a replacement (a diesel) yesterday. Will hopefully be picking the new car up tomorrow, so need to get rid of the Clio ASAP as my no claims is tied up in the Clio policy, and my insurer won't mirror the no claims.

I have it booked in for a service and a pre-MoT inspection on Wednesday, and will MoT it as soon as the garage can fit it in. I have also put 6 months tax on the car starting this month.

I am open to offers on the price.

No, sorry, I bought it with the Yozzasport fitted. However, the Yozza is very sought after, so a swap for an original (plus cash this way) or a quieter stainless shouldn't be a problem on here or Cliosport.

Price drop to £4400. Open to offers, as the replacement car has now been bought.

Car now has MoT until 6th October 2012, and the rear discs and pads have now been fitted.

The car was also serviced last week at 66k.

Dear me, is this what they have fallen to?
I'm stunned.

Thinking exactly the same :(

I bought mine mid-last year for nearly double that, although mileage was in early teens and it was almost as new.
That was intentional on my part as I wasn't able to get one when they were new and wanted one that hadn't been messed with.
My take on it is I will be keeping it for a very long time if I can help it (probably 'til it dies). I have already had all manner of BMWs, EVOs, MINI, Golfs so I'm not likely to get bored of it.
I think they (like many performance cars) are going through a bad spell. There tends to be a "value curve" with specialist cars like this:
- Soon after they are launched, they fetch good money used as there is demand fuelled by magazine tests;
- As they get a little older (and forgotten), new models arrive and more examples for sale, results in values being hit;
- BUT as time passes, fewer good versions for sale, later models often prove not as good, values firm up significantly.

I think we're in the middle phase at the moment. Smart owners who hold on to them and keep them reasonably standard will find plenty of takers in years to come. Just look at the likes of the R5 Turbo, Clio Williams.
What's a standard Williams or R5T with 50,000 miles and complete detailed history worth now?

That 205 is lovely, but you have to be a real fan to spend £10k. I wonder what it actually sold for? I'd love a 205 GTI, but I think one that mint couldn't be driven as it should. Shame to see it spend it's life being polished and stored, in my opinion.

Back to the original topic....bump! Does no one want a just serviced Trophy, with full MoT, for offers around £4400?

Sorry, car is now sold. Just watched it drive off down my road for the last time.

Hope the new owner, Ben, enjoys it, I'm sure he'll be along soon to introduce himself! (I feel sorry for his Dad - Devon to Cambridgeshire and back in a transit van!)

I have owned it's replacement for a month now. It's .....erm...... a Volvo S40 2.0D Sport

Needs must! With an 19 month old daughter, another on the way, and an 80 mile a day commute across fen back roads, the Trophy's days were always numbered! It was only ever going to be a short term prospect. 19 months ownership is actually quite long for me!

Thanks for an entertaining and informative forum, is it time for me to be taken out and publicly stripped of my 3rd star now!?

Another Trophy hitting Devon, these red perils are going to be common at this rate!

Any idea where in Devon it was heading? Be great for a local to share the experience.

Here's a pic of the offending beast, on a trip to the Lake District last week:

Somewhere near Exmouth. I pointed him in the direction of the forum, so I'm sure he'll be along to say hi sooner or later!
