Scirroco will be nice motor but I doubt it will be as fun to drive as an R26 or Trophy.

Then again the Golf GTI is highly rated as an a fun tool A-B. Mid range performance being key rather than the pub boost of 0-60, 0-100.

Who has the R26? Is it Mark at Car Connexions? I am tempted with the red one but want to sell mine privately.

However, I am also drawn to buying a brand new motorbike as they are giving free insurance away.

Yeah top bloke and in the past he worked with Steve from allvehicles.

I bought a 172 off him and it was excellent. I highly recommend him. I d be buying the red one of him but he can only go to 8400 on my 05 plate CTR, I need to be closer to 9500.

I like the yellow but I want the F1 graphics.

Well Nez has been practicing for Cadwell today & giving it large for a week, 13.8mpg.

After 30 mins of me driving went upto 17mpg

Reckons he sees 26mpg, over 30mpg on a run.

have you been at cadwell today?

I thought about it but couldn't get out of my work....... plus the forecast didn't lend itself to running the r888's down.. they're semi semi slick now.

Took an R26 out last night, very impressed

Box took a bit of getting used to

Driven the Meg a couple times at RS trackdays and had a test drive and thought the gear box was awful! Certainly a handful of laps and a test drive isn't the most thorough verdict, but that gear change pushes it dangerously close to non-starter territory.
Keep the Trophy :D

It's done.

And I'm absolutely loving it :D

Mark was a top bloke and the car is just in mint condition throughout.

Haven't had any back road blasts yet but so far it feels super smooth and planted. I'll keep you posted on progress.

Good to hear mate. I see he has your Trophy up for sale. I was very tempted last night to call him and see if he'd do a deal on my ctr for it. Or hold out and wait for an R26. Keep us posted on the comparison between the Trophy and R26.

p.s. how many owners did your Trophy have?

My Trophy is a cracking car and as genuine as you'll find.

I was the second owner of it. I bought it from a similarly besotted owner who had it for 5.5k but needed something more economical to commute to Docklands in.

The R26 is a great package and i'm enjoying the extra comfort but i'll let you know if the local specialist stage is the same riot as it was in 093 :?:
