Indeed, Gordini was always more than the blue paint and white stripes.

Now where are those old slippers of mine ;-)

It's cynical market positioning.
They already have the "Cup" and "Trophy" suffixes for the lightweight focused models and are using the "Gordini" sub-brand for top of the range/luxury models. They will get leather interiors, bluetooth this and ipod that, all adding weight but will do for their target audience.

I wonder if they'll be a 'Trophy' model on the way! Possibly more track focused than the cup!

Not likely, For me it seems the perfect oppertunity for this has passed, I agree with the two J's that its 'a great waste of the Gordini name'.

The gordini marque is a brilliant opportunity pissed away by renault, it should have been the "prodrive" to Subaru or the "arbarth" to fiat!!

or ''Renaultsport'' to Renault #-o

I can see what people mean though. I'd have stripped it out and painted it blue with stripes LIKE A GORDINI. But if you like the styling, and as said previously, the extra £2k is the same as speccing a clio and adding those extras, then it doesn't really matter

btw, I don't like the styling, looks a bit tacky me thinks
