Can't decide whether I prefer the look of these or the DC2's. I know I'd rather have a DC2, even though these are faster and newer.

And DC2 were available here as UK cars, so you might even get a history! Proper hardcore!

My DC5 had all Jap Honda history

I'm not being rude, so please don't think I am, but I think it's over priced.
There are a few DC5's on the market @ the mo. Some with alot less miles for less money.
I'm only saying this as a constructive critism.

It might help if you listed what Auction grade it was, whether it's standard (It certainly looks it from the pictures) & if it's a B-pack or not?

The car does look in very good condition & would think it would be Grade 4+.

Good luck with the sale, gotta say these are an awesome drive. Definately the best car I've owned to date.

We need to talk. Why did you sell one for the 182?

If they didn't put such a big spoiler on the back, just a bit over the top for me. Makes it look a bit too fast...or maybe a bit too furious

Take all that on board, there's always going to be a condition and price spread on these as they are not an exact science.

My car is 2002 (02) graded 4, it had 4 very low tyres which wouldn't help that. Please remember that this car has a New MOT, has just been undersealed, will be serviced, 3m Warranty, 4 new Bridgestones, a genuine gearknob on the way, the mileage is commensurate with the age, beware low mileage cars as these don't ever show any wear and tear and not everyone is scrupulous about the conversion from Kms to Miles, like most Brits I can't read Japanese so have to take any history with a pinch of salt. It does have electric door mirrors and the privacy glass, but I've never seen one without that. Missing a rear wiper and powerfold mirrors to make it a C pack as far as I know of C Pack detail. This one's nice with the matching Black Recaros.

A very good friend of mine has been importing Japanese cars for 15 years, his advice is always take nothing at face value and buy a car that's in the best condition possible. Also cars in Japanese cities may not always have done many miles but they are running for longer due to the congestion - someone recently recommended they are sold by 'hours' and not miles like mechanical equipment :)

As I said to someone else, heaven forbid I have to run it as a demo

If you want to PM me mate feel free.

The ONLY reason I sold mine was to free up some money.
I still miss the car alot & would have another in a shot if I could find one as good as my old one.

Was it a lot more expensive to run than a 182? How did the insurance compare? I've heard grey imports can be a bitch to insure.

Don't forget that Steve (artdealer) is a car salesman and not a private seller, you're paying for the fact that he's sourced such a good car, imported it and got it licensed/MOT'd etc. He doesn't deal rubbish. I want it, badly. Looking for a house that's £13K cheaper with a double garage now!

No more expensive, probably cheaper imo.
Servicing isn't as costly as Renaults & the specialist to use is very very reasonable!!!
They only require oil, filters, coolant etc. They don't even change plugs until 60K plus on the K20A. Also being chain driven rather than cambelt you have no worries on that front.
Never heard of a K20A letting go from a failed chain.

Insurance isn't cheap, group 20 & alot of insurers will insist on CAT 1's, Overnight garaging & poss tracker.

Not taking anything away from Steve I've seen some of the cars on his website & 99% look very nice, but there are plenty of clean well loved DC5's that are on these shores now. I have said the car from the pics does look in great condition, I just think that people are scared of buying such cars & think it safer to purchase from a dealer rather than privately.

If you want anymore info or to talk further mate, give me a PM, I don't want to clog Steve's thread up.

Good luck with the sale mate

That car sold and looked bloody fantastic the day it went out. Adding the number plates seemed to bring it all together. I left it parked outside a locksmiths while I had a Honda blank spare key cut and everyone was looking at it and chatting to me about what value it appeared to be. Like many cars, away from a forecourt and other interesting cars it definitely stood out.
