Spring is here, time to get rid of the swirls from the harsh winter.
I’ve used a DAS-6 a few times and achieved reasonable results but now I’ve decided to upgrade to rotary in the form of a cheap and cheerful Silverline.

Due to time restrictions and it being my first time I’m only aiming for about 80% correction (I use it every day anyway).

Apologies for the amateur camera work. Its an ancient point and shoot which keeps flicking itself to video so I just take the shot whenever it decides to work!

I knew I wasn’t going to get the whole car polished in a day, so I decided to lay down some protection as I finished each area.
Following polish each panel was wiped down with IPA/distilled water 50:50 solution and treated with Werkstat Prime Strong by DA on a soft pad.

Day 3:
The car was soaking from the misty weather. Doused with water and dried off.

The first coat of Jetseal from yesterday is doing the trick:

I had hoped to get some arty shots but the location I was going to use has since been gated off. So out of ideas and out of light I headed home.

Wish i knew how to do this lol! My limits are pretty much AG SRP and the extra gloss protection stuff lol. I cant find any real beginner guides for detailing anywhere as i would like to give it a try!

Good work though 8)

Aucky - how did the rotart feel in comparison to a DA?? Is it as dreaded as some say?? Did you get better results far far quicker?

It definitely isn't the fire breathing monster that some people make out, but it is totally different to a DA.
Correction does come quicker, but its more physical than using a DA. You really need to keep the pad moving to avoid heat build up and if you hold the pad at a slight angle it has a tendancy to jump.

Another thing is that the rotary will tend to move where it wants to, and I just had to suggest it go in the right direction, it doesn't have the controlled accruacy the DA has, which is why I used the DA as an application tool instead of the rotary.
