Autotrader ones are mostly private except for the renault press car that has spent most its life tracked advertised by smc. Theres some other dodgy backstreet dealer cars but i would rather buy from a proper dealer.

The one's on Autotrader at the backstreet dealers may well be worth checking out, especially the one with just 86 miles on the clock for £12,995.

As long as the history is all in place and correct, which it should be on a car as new as this, then I don't think you should be to concerned, just make sure you do all the homework - hpi check, contact previous owner etc.

So is the trowbridge car worth buying? Why was it oversprayed, was involved in some kind of accident?

If anyone is feeling very flush Whitehouse Renault in Tunbridge Wells have the very last un-registered V6 in the country sitting in their show room!!!

They had a Trophy as a demonstrator and I picked that up a few weeks ago for £12,995 with 4,300ish on the clock....

Dodgy back street dealers....

Having spent 26 years working for Renault Dealers and in the last year for myself and a regular dealer of Clio 182 and Trophy models (10 in the last month), I would kindly ask that the dodgy dealer moniker be applied to genuinely untrustworthy car dealers and not anyone who isn't a main agent. After all, why not deal with a reputable and knowledgeable car dealer when you can deal with a spotty ego-mad car sales manager who has probably thrashed his demo into work every morning from cold! (I have nothing else against or all spotty used car sales managers by the way, we all have to start somewhere!) Also if I say I might find one for you, I would actually do something about it, not put the phone down and go to the coffee machine for inspiration. Cheers, Steve.

Main dealers are more crooked then backstreet dealers and I have experience and information to back this up, So I wouldn't hesitate to use someone like above then get all my servicing done by a VAT registered garage, say Rentech.

As it's a dead cert of happening, how do warranty issues work if you don't mind me asking?

I just had a service replacement gearbox put in an Espace under warranty and noticed the bill was about £2000. The paperwork was left in the car and could see the service history was photocopied to fax to Renault. Who knows if the 18K service had been done by a specialist whether they may have tried to wriggle out of the cost. Probably not since the gearbox isn't part of the service, but an engine? There will probably need to be a few test cases for the line to be drawn in the sand about warranty validation. Any feedback from main dealer warranty or manufacturer employees appreciated.

Richyboy, if you're still looking for a Trophy I have one coming into my stock this week. 55 Plate, One Owner with 6500 miles. If you contact me via my website with contact details I'll negotiate a price with you. Best regards, Steve.
ps: may be able to do a very low mileage Clio 182 with Cup Wheels, Suspension & Spoilers in Black at a good price as an alternative.
