Which one would I be best off buying? I don't do many miles as I work away so I drive mainly at weekends. So it got me thinking a diesel might probably cost more than a petrol. But the diesel cupra has sooooo much torque! But I have heard they can torque steer out of corners! Which could be a...
My Sachs have now been rebuilt at a cost of £583.20 (inc VAT) by BG Motorsport. A brilliant service, very quick turnaround and smiles all round.
However, I am a little frustrated with Renault. Clearly, when deciding how to see off the 182 they saw 1000 or so Sachs suspension units and...
Hi
I'm thinking about selling my T.
Only bought her in May and was planning to use as a daily drive but...maybe I'm getting a bit old...ride is a bit too firm for my tastes on the roads near me. On the right roads when I'm in the mood I love the car, but most of the time that's not what I'm...
is anyone actually buying "alien green" clio 200s...?
i still havent seen any on the road / forums
one or both of my clios needs to go with the arrival of my wifes company car and i'm having fleeting thoughts about getting a green 200
after all its always the special colours that seem to become...
Why the Trophy has one of the worst rear benches i've ever seen that does not match the front at all? especially when the 182 rear bench would match it really well, not a major issue but it annoys me
Had it about 3 weeks now, love it :D . Taken it on some fab roads in the dales and lake district, here are a few pics
Next month going for a good detailing and blacking up the plastic again
Hiya all,
am looking for a set of these as my next compromise road tyre. I am having a hard time finding them in Trophy size, any tips?
Camskills do them but are out of stock ATM.
Cheers,
Hi all,
Needin to get ma Sachs re-furbed but need car every day for work so am lookin for replacement suspension for it while i get this done. Cant seem to find Koni's to fit.... Bilstein quoted me £1000 and told me that the trophy had a megane front axle which i've not heard before :? :? ...
Took the Opportunity to take #428 to the Elan Valley and the Aberystwyth Mountain Road and down to Devils Bridge last week.....the Trophy has now covered 1500 miles since i bought it at the start of the month! I am so happy i made the decision to change from the R27, yes i do miss some of the...
I'm thinking of getting something RWD to replace my Trophy perhaps an Elise or VX220 but can anyone make any other suggestions or have they had any experience with either car?
Thanks.
:)
Just picked up the latest copy of Performance Car Magazine. It seems they've done an article on "The Finest B-Roads in England" using a Trophy - 7 pages in total with some great shots of the car. Well worth buying a copy.
Cheers,
Jez
was wondering if you can get a few things that I need to getting it looking perfect
1) Were there any trophy car mats made, or just the regular renaultsport clio ones?
2) Can you get the transfers for the wheels, the speedline turini ones. Mine must've had a refurb and they're missing from the...
Two cracking results for Renault, Trophy came joint 7th with Ferrari F50 and R26.R 4th!
One bug-bear i have though is they talk about a 'layer of squidge' in the Trophy's suspension leading to it not feeling very honed and taught, and i quote 'ooldes of pitch and roll'... WTF!! I put it to them...

I've owned no less than three Type R's before my T. Infact, even my first car was a Type R and so I don't doubt for a second that this 'machine' will be an...
Dear All,
After getting back from South Wales today, I would like to ask: what is the best technique for carrying speed into and out of a corner in a Trophy?
I know all corners are different: different gears required, different braking points, different throttle pressure etc, but is there a...
Having just stepped out of an R27 into a Trophy i was wondering how many miles you guys were getting out of a tank? I seem to be averaging 31mpg on the daily commute, a fair bit more than the R27 at around 26mpg but that also had a bigger tank, so couldn't get my head round the maths!!
I...
Dealers seem to be heavily discounting the 200 CUP... Lookers Chelmsford have a new one with 1mile on the clock in blue, reduced from £15750 to £12,995.
This might be of particular interest to you Rich

Picked up my Trophy from Lookers Renault in Chester on Saturday, traded in my Black R27 after 16 months of ownership. Always wanted a Trophy and this one seemed to be just right, decent price, low miles(26,000), 3 month main dealer warranty.
After collecting it i went for a play in North...
Let me start off by saying, I love living in the Lakes ! I go out for a drive in the Lakes nearly every weekend and never get fed up with driving the same epic roads.
The trouble is summer attracts ALOT of 'Touroids', which are like Hemroids...A pain in the arse! So the key is to venture out...
time may be up for #356
just recently got married and possibly 356 may now be a little to small for our needs. The wife has her heart set on me getting a 330CI or 330 convertible, cos it looks "posh", and i was thinking of going for a 230 R26.
BUT....... the question I want to throw out there...
I know this topic has been touched upon many times...Just want a quick opinion. Looking to replace my front discs with Brembo HC and greenstuff pads. I use the car for road use only.
Is anyone using this set up...any advice and/or opinions please?
i was having a chat with some of the lads at work about cars and one of the new guys at work is getting picked up from his brother who has an evo vi tommi makinen in silver, i asked if he could take us out in it as i was thinking of getting one so me mate a work rang up his bro and asked for me...
Ive put together some theory questions, see how well you do... :)
Ill be honest, when I was reading through the book there was one or two of the following questions I didnt know.
(1) A pelican crossing that crosses the road in a STRAIGHT line and has a central island MUST be treated as…...
I have a week of work soon, so I was thinking of getting the front dampers refurbished. However, having seen a new suspension setup on another car (more in a minute), I want to do some suspension mods at the same time. Ok, in my opinion, The car is far too soft, more so at the rear. This is...
Bit of a random one this, but I fancied having a moan about the appalling quality of a lot of the driving on our roads. Sometimes it's so bad it actually scares me.
I think my biggest pet hate, or one of them at least, is people who randomly brake for no reason. Not necessarily heavy braking...
I had to laugh....
I've been talking to a guy in the local for the best part of a month about cars - he's after a new one, current steed is a Corsa SXI and he's gunning for a Corsa VXR, after being ribbed for the past month about needing fluorescent lights to go with it etc he finally laid me...
