Hi Guys,
Picked up #126 just the other week. Previously owned a 172 PH2 in Oz before with mild mods, and now that i'm in the UK thought i'd go back to where it all started. Always wanted a Trophy and now the dream has been realised.
As far as modifications previous owner installed a...
Hi - probably a dumb question, but if I want to get #478 feeling as "new" as I can, and i'm already all-in for a BG damper refurb, assume it makes sense to do the rears as well.
Original sachs rears seem to be £105 as well - questions are:
- Just the shocks, or make sense for Springs as well...
No 125. Must be one of the nicest condition Trophies out there.
Car has been properly maintained and all parts replaced as and when required. I have loads of receipts to prove this.
Car has a fresh MOT. Work carried out at the MOT included new front discs and pads and new rear callipers...
So, don't seem to be having much luck just now. One of my rear dampers packed in. New Sachs costing £250 from Renault! Rip off but hey ho.
Now another issue that has started is a creaking coming from the front suspension. Only pronounced on full lock at low speeds. Strange feeling through the...
Hello just got number 14. Very pleased with the car and the way it goes. It's my 1st decent fast 'new car' having always had classics. I'm 42 so not a real racer type. I think it will fit in well with some of the oldies own. Only poor areas for road driving in my opinion are: a bit of movement...
Happens if don't change very gently from 1st to 2nd, also when I accelerate and lift off as well as well as when down-changing under engine load (say 5th to 2nd @ 30mph).
Does this sound like worn engine/gearbox mounts? My other theory was that it is the exhaust knocking as currently I have...
For sale here is Clio Trophy #181 of 500 , the car was first registered in 2005 and is on a 55 plate, it has currently done approx 95k miles.
Car was bought only a few months ago as a weekend car/run about and has seen very little use, I’ve probably only done around 1k miles in it, in fact it...
Regular stalker of this forum but never time to post T450 is all well (apart from CV boot clip fail) currently on 41k.
Anyway, whilst changing the front discs today I realised the T needed some TLC on her, so I plan to refurb the front dampers, new springs on front, lower wishbones, powerflex...
Whats there to say really, BigDave popped round Saturday morning as a mate of ours was fitting ktr/vibratechnics uprated engine + gearbox mounts and a powerflex dogbone so while they were doing that i cracked on with getting the sachs back on the trophy and fitting the sportlines, turned the...
Well i managed to get my yozza sitting perfect which is a bonus and i then thought about changing the exhaust brackets for power flex ones (home made of course)
I then upgraded my door handles from standard ones to carbon ones to match the rest of the dash.
Here are all the pictures in order...
Just a couple of little bits i have lying around.
-First is a Powerflex front wishbone poly bush kit, brand new in box, part number PFF60-301, will fit ph1 + 2 172's and also 182's including Trophy, maybe others if you check the part number on google or whatever. I'm going to build a racecar now...
I have my Clio 182 Trophy No.440 for sale; I have owned thisfor the past 2 years and will be sad to see it go.
Genuine reason for sale as I needed something bigger that Icould get tools and bits in.
Due to me being a full time mechanic the Trophy has beenmaintained to the highest standard and...
So, after a few months of owning my T I have fallen in love with it. I cant think of anything that comes close for the money. Im going to get mine booked in for a service soon and wondered what if anything would be good to get replaced/refreshed?Dont have to worry about dampers as they have...
Looking to spend a little money on the Trophy now as the steering (since the 'tracking was done at Kwik Fit) has got progressively more loose/wobbly over the past few weeks - im thinking they buggered something up with too much heat? Front Sachs seem fine and have only done 15k since they were...
I can get some discount on these items from my work depending on the amount of people.
What you would getting would be item No5 in the picture below which is a polybushes for the TWISTED DOG BONE MOUNT on 172's & 182's

anyone had any problems with these?? mine seems to have ripped the hanger off the rear box on the o/s. is this a common fault??? only had a quick shufty but n/s seems to be braced, o/s not. bit of a shite design imho.
So its been a while since I’ve posted anything, and seeing as me and a mate of mine had enough energy to clean our cars yesterday I thought I’d do a little update with some pictures of the recent additions to #333. Although I won’t bore you with millions of pictures of my Trophy all clean, as...
Managed to get a quick hour down the workshop after work today so finally replaced my smashed up front splitter and upgraded the dogbone bushing! And yes, i know my front bumper really needs a clean and all those nasty bugs removing! Will be on it tomorrow!
Just want to check that this is the correct way round to fit them after i get the old bushes pressed out:

Righto, my front sachs started leaking so i've removed them from the car, sent them off to BG to be stripped, they've sent them back to me to be blasted and coated then i'm sending them back for refitting. While that's being done i'm working on the rest of the susp.
Removed the arch liners and...
Having a clear out of the garage and found these in the box untouched. They sell on Ktec's site for £45.60, I will sell them for £40 inc postage.
Details of them can be found here: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product ... 99&appid=2
(2 packs - one with 2 outer and another with 2 inner bushes)
Hi Guys, I know some of this has been covered in other topics but I'm trying to bring it all together and get peoples views.
As my dampers are going away soon to be rebuilt and depinned, I was wondering about the rest of the suspension setup.
What kind of things have you guys done to sharpen up...
Not sure if this should be in here or another section but it may be of help to some of you .
Most people on her will probly have changed the dogbone mount for a new reno one, or to reduce the engine movment a powerflex uprated bush set .
Renault ones are to soft and allow too much engine...
Guys, your thoughts on the below please..
My T was serviced a number of months ago and has since covered approximately 1100 miles. Today it went for its MOT and failed on a ball joint. So my questions are...
- Would you have expected a significant failure to occur within the space of a number...
