I'm in the position to replace the Clio next year sometime next year, but nothing on the market was grabbing me.
R26 was fancied, but from what I've read not better than the Trophy enough to justify the change.
Then went crazy and started fantasising about a 996 Carrera 4, until my old man...

Hello all, sorry it's been a while but all i've been doing is driving, I've put 2000 on the clock in 3 weeks. I had to before anyone starts, I blame tha VW add about "have you ever just gone for a night drive".
Anyway putting a new stereo in the car and was wondering if there was anything that...
I'm considering purchasing a Trophy in September but I've noticed a few of the regulars on here commenting about the motorway ride.
Is it really as bad as people make it out to be? I'll be frequently travelling to Birmingham, Bristol and London so I'll be hitting the motorway quite a lot...
hi
Ive just put my Alpine IVA-D310RB screen headunit in my Trophy and set all the system up ie Bass & Treble, the problem is it sounds Terrible inside the car.
The standard speakers in the car are rubbish and cant handle the power from my Audiobahn 4ch 100w amp.
Ive also installed a DLS...
I remember someone telling me they had a cable coming from the back of their headunit (using the connector for the cd changer i believe) and being able to plug in their (non iPod) MP3 player and be able to use the steering wheel audio controls (limited functionality maybe?)- this was ages back...
Following the suggestion by Cue in the tyre database thread (see here: http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1508) I am looking at expanding this to cover other Trophy compatible oem replacements such as brake pads etc.
Let me know in this thread what sections you think it should...
Well, i've finally managed to blow not one but two speakers so it's time to replace them and at the same time get myself a snazzy new headunit too. i've picked what i'm gonna install, but now need to find someone to install it all as i'm just not that way inclined!!
Anyone know of...
I know a lot of people want to keep their cars standard, audio included but would still like some sort of ipod functionality without spending £100+ on a Denison etc...
After much oohing and aahing I decided to take a bit of a risk and buy a cable from ebay, for £20 you get a lengthy...
as we all know the trophy speakers aint great...i was thinking about some after-market ones for the rear...are they 10cm or do i need some of the custom ones..? anyone changed theirs? what did you buy?
Can it be done on the standard unit or does it require a completely new stereo? Or is it easier to get the cd changer unit bolted on (just like the full fat 182)?
Cheers.
I'm now planning on keeping my Trophy long term, but find I miss some of the toys from my old M3, in particular hands-free Bluetooth phone connection and Sat Nav with TMC.
I’ve been looking at different stereos systems with Sat Nav available on the market but very few are available...
Drove from Surrey to Cornwall late last night, popped in at a private test track on the way and notched up an indicated 141/142mph :)
I had a slight decline in my favour, but I was very impressed with the ease that the Trophy showed in getting to around 135, but as you hit about 138 there...

As I was warned......it's crap!!!!
Less than ideal sound quality but the main problem is that, living in and around London, there are NO empty FM channels to tune it to!!
Not wanting to change the head-unit I have decided to use the AUX input on the standard Clio radio already in the car...
What can people tell me about them. Do you know of any good companies to go with. If anyone else is interested would they do a group buy?
After reading about the chap who had his Trophy mugged from him, i've got to get one fitted now.
I was looking through a broucher at work the other day and noticed a nice Sparco front and rear Red strut brace. Got me thinking should i or shouldt I fit them to the car.
I know the rear is only for looks but I am very tempted.
What the rest of you think????
