Finally got a new K-tec Ultra performance Sports Exhaust along with a remap done on the Trophy.
Sounds great and the power delivery is smoother.
Very happy with the results!
Sorry to keep bombarding with all the questions of late... I'm after some more advice and opinions again please.
Following a recent trip to the Lake District my partner and I have noticed that the Trophy isn't quite as 'spritely' as usual so I carried out the usual checks (i.e. the...
I'm looking at spending no more than a grand on some performance upgrades on the Trophy. looking at the Morego (without cams) but not sure. Does a custom remap, filter and exhaust offer more value for money and if so who and where do you recommend?
cheers.

Well time has come to part with Tommy. For me a car addict Tommy was my cure, no longer do i feel the need for a different car every few months.

Due to an unfortunate change in circumstances, the Trophy will have to go. Registered in July 2005 it has tax til 31st Jan 2009 and has done 25,269 miles. I am the second owner of number 31 and it is in good condition. Recently had 2 new Mich PE2's on the front (1 month ago) and the front brakes...
I recently discovered what was described to me as a "knock controller" when I bought the car, is in fact a Unichip piggyback unit. Great bonus I thought. Since it was originally setup with an open induction kit, I decided to have it remapped at Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon to what I have now, a...
as its a nice day i went for a drive around the countryside and thought about cutting a hole so my induction could breath better, do you think this could devalue the car and even damage the engine if it rains, dont want water sucking in the engine
Not a lot is the answer!!
I've finally removed the valve following the guide posted on this site. I also replaced the hoses with flexible alloy items, 50mm dia. for the lower intake (1st pic) and 60mm dia. for the side intake (2nd pic) using the orignial plastic fittings.

Hi all, I had 218 for just over a week and enjoying every moment of it. I had a Clio 172 previously a few years ago so have an idea of Clio ownership. In between then an now had an Audi A4 1.8T Quattro and a BMW325i but needed something smaller and a little cheaper to run and of course to have...
Received my RSTuner Pro today from Henk at Fastchip.
Just finished setting it all up and have already backed up my current ECU files. The software is very easy to install and operate.
Will load Henks new 98Ron performance map tomorrow and report back.
Looking forward to sending him my...
I just posted this on RS site but thought id stick it on here as well, any thoughts?
I went 4 a 40 mile drive 2day, when i got home with the engine still running a popped the bonnet and put my hand on the inlet manifold and found it was only just warm.
Is this normal on a clio trophy?

I'll get some photos up later, just need to level exhaust out & fit new rear rubbers
I took my car upto the Evo triangle on friday...some epic roads well worth the trip anyway after a couple of laps I noticed that the brakes had faded abit and the clutch pedal a little lower than normal but I put this down to heat and "spirited driving "
However on the next lap the clutch...

Wanna get no.31 on the RR sometime to check whats actually coming outta the wheels. Thought the Trophy would be a bit nippier but it could just be the way im driving it coming from driving a diesel for the last 3 years! Got a Orbisound and IK so expecting 190 at the wheels? Or am I in dream land?
I was very excited to read about the new Japanese Civic type R. Apart from a boring 4 door saloon body, the prospect of 225 PS, 8,400 rev limit, reasonable torque, Brembo 4 pot callipers, 18" lightweight rims, gear type LSD, proper independent rear suspension etc was very tempting. Still not a...
K&N do a direct filter replacement for the 182 engine which requires no physical mods to fit it. You just take the Reno one out and put the K&N in. You never have to change it again. My insurance company want to know how much % power increase there is as a result of fitting. I have told them...
Took my Trophy up to Ben R's place on Wednesday along with a couple of mates and am staggered by the difference to my car.
Mid range has improved dramatically and the torque is much more like a Williams now.
If anyone wants a go in my car let me know?
:D
I was driving down the M6 yesterday and got thinking about the feasability of fitting a six speed box in the little beast.
Would this be possible?
I know they used six speeders in the Cup cars, but they were sequential and expensive, also probably not ideal ratios for the road.
How about a...
Yes im selling my trophy due to hopefully getting an evo shortly.
Its a 55 plate with 23500m on the clock, already had 24k service. FRSH. Only mod is a green induction kit, still have the original airbox if reqd. Im the first owner. Car was bought Oct05 so still has 20months warrenty left...
Is there any reason not to replace the standard filter with an after market panel filter?
I've read that induction kits are pointless unless you have a re-map, which i'm not going to do. So is it ok to pop a new panel in, is there any point, what difference will it make?
