Don't take my word for this but i saw a graphic somewhere saying that a car that currently pays £210 (us) would go up to £300.
I did try to find out this the other day on one of the Gov. sites but lost the will to live.

Based on the last budget; tax on any clio 182 will go up to £260 from 1st April next year and then £270 the following year.
Hopefully, there'll be an announcement over the next few days which means it won't be going up as high.

Aha, but pre-2001 vehicles are unaffected by this new regime!
Looks like next March I'll have to buy 12 months tax to beat the rise, I normally only ever do it for 6 months even though I know I'm keeping the car.

For some big engined motors manufactured in 2000/1 it may mean that the 2000 reg car will have a higher used value.
Some cars registered over the cut-off it will mean a £250 difference.
