For sale is my 2005 Renault Sport Clio 182 Cup in Racing Blue, which has recently clocked 60,000 enjoyable and trouble free miles.
I have owned the car for approximately two and a half years in which time it has been maintained regardless of cost and has been given some tasteful modifications to enhance the performance and looks. I have bundles of receipts for all of the work I have had done during my period of ownership.
The car features all of the standard features such as air conditioning, CD player with stalk controls, cruise control /speed limiter, power steering, electric windows/mirrors, traction control / electronic stability program, optimum gear shift light, trip computer with mpg calculator etc and remote central locking with factory fitted alarm & immobiliser.
The car has also been sensibly upgraded with items from the Clio Trophy and the full fat model, it is pretty much the highest specification Clio you could buy.
It has also never been smoked in or eaten in, so there is no horrible smell, crumbs or stains anywhere (very clean inside and out).
The car has 11 months tax and MOT until Feb 2011 and has always been run on Shell V-Power in the time that I have owned.

Service history and maintenance
- The car has had the all important cambelt change by a Renault Sport specialist using the genuine Renault locking tools so the timing is absolutely spot on, and all of the guide pulleys and tensioner was replaced at the same time, as was the auxiliary drive belt and the associated tensioner and pulleys and the obligatory camshaft oil seals.
- It has had regular services, whereby it has been serviced ahead of Renault's recommended schedules and genuine Renault parts have been used along with good quality fully synthetic oil purchased from Opie oils (only as my local Renault dealer only supply semi-synthetic for this car)
- Spark plugs have been replaced well ahead of Renault's recommended 72,000 mile interval with the originally equipped NGK-R platinum core items.
Rear discs, wheel bearings and rear pads have been replaced with genuine Renault parts.
ITG panel filter has been cleaned and re-oiled with genuine ITG dust retention coating every 2000 miles.
- Recent air conditioning refrigerant re-gas.

- The car has been regularly detailed, whereby it has been treated to a couple coats of polymer sealant and a carnauba wax to protect the precious paintwork.
It is never washed with a sponge or an automatic car wash and is always cleaned using only the finest products from the likes of Meguiars, Dodo Juice & Zaino.
It has had some very minor paint correction to remove the factory swirl marks which inevitably came with every Clio 182 when they were new.

Modifications
- Brand new Genuine Renault Xenon headlamps have been fitted which were treated to brand new bulbs, starters and ballast packs at the same time.
It also has smoked side repeaters fitted which are fully E-marked and road legal.

- Many of the exterior details (which are normally black textured plastic from factory) have been replaced with genuine carbon fibre items (remember not carbon 'lookalike') including the front splitter, the front fog-lamp surrounds and the rear bumper insert.

- The suspension has been upgraded to Clio Trophy spec, which features Sachs Racing dampers with remote reservoirs and adjustable dampening coupled with Eibach springs. With this setup the handling is the best I have ever experienced on a front wheel drive car and is yet somehow still comfortable!
The suspension was the main difference between a Cup and a limited edition Trophy, of which only 500 units were sold in the UK and is still regarded by EVO magazine as the best handling hatchback ever made! Not surprising when just ONE front damper will set you back £1100 + VAT from a Renault dealer. Don't let you put this off as when they are worn out they can be rebuilt for just £140 + VAT.

- Recaro Trendline half leather/alcantara suede bucket seats (as also fitted to the Clio Trophy) were fitted with genuine Renault sub-frames and the genuine airbag resistors to prevent any unsightly airbag warning lights appearing on the dash.

- Carpet from a full fat model has also been fitted which has a deeper pile (better quality) and is easier to clean and generally looks nicer.

- The steering wheel from a full fat model has been fitted, which features rubber thumb grips and a silver insert with the Renault Sport logo.

- The Engine cover from a full fat model has been fitted (Cup models did not come with an engine cover) which has been professionally re-sprayed from the original dull silver to the glossy Racing Blue colour of the bodywork.

- The blanking plates below the headlamps have had the bubbled texture removed and have been sprayed body colour.

- The standard exhaust was removed and replaced with a lightweight stainless steel item from Scorpion exhausts.

- The inlet manifolds have been port matched and have performance analyser graphs to indicate a gain of 8bhp at the wheels (approx 12-13bhp at the flywheel).

- The standard cup spoiler has been replaced with the larger (and in my opinion better looking) item which came fitted to the Trophy and the V6 Clio along with shorter tailgate struts to match.

- The standard cup wheels have been refinished in gloss black with 2K clear coat and have a couple of minor stone chips but no unsightly curb marks. The Renault emblems on the centre caps have been painted body colour. These are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 tyres which were developed specifically for this car and are quite simply the best tyres I've ever bought, all tyres have decent tread.

- The rear bench and belts/buckles have been removed (to save weight and as I don't really carry passengers in the back) and replaced with a false floor which was professionally trimmed in black alcantara suede to match the seats. Of course I realise this is not to everyone's taste so the original rear bench has been kept and I can refit it (along with the seatbelts and buckles) for the new owner should they wish.

Unfortunately the car does have a slight dent in the passenger side door which I have not got around to fixing, however it is only minor and I could happily recommend a local body-shop I trust to undertake the work as he will be more than enthusiastic to work on this car.
Please contact me if you would like to arrange a viewing and I will do my best to ensure the car is clean to ensure you get the best indication of its condition.
Any questions please do not hesitate to call me or email me.
This is a fantastic car and I am certain the next owner will enjoy it just as much as I have.

Just a point to mention, I realise this is a fair bit more expensive than the other 182s out there but if you were to buy a cheaper one and carry out all the best modifications it would cost you a hell of a lot more than the £6000 I'm asking for the car.
I could have put the car back to standard and sold all of the rare and sought after modifications seperately and probably got more money, but I thought it would be a shame to think all of the time and effort I had put into what I consider to be the best Clio 182 you could have for everyday and fast road use would be going to waste. I would rather sell the car to someone as it is and see them enjoy it.

Cheers

I wouldn't say it's high mileage, 5 years old and 60,000 miles, that's 12k a year which is pretty much average.

Come take a look at it, drives just as brilliantly as when I first bought it.

Fair enough. In your case then I wouldn't bother with a low mileage car, that's surely the fastest way to lose money!

Body work has now been repaired and this car is MINT. However, I've decided to keep the car as I'm not prepared to let it go for pennies.

Theres too much obsession with mileage on cars nowadays, your cars pretty much bang on average mileage and you can tell by your description and the pictures that you love your car and look after it, id definitely be comin for a look at yours if i was in the market for a car. I've had mates that have bought very low mileage examples of various cars and had nowt but problems. The dreaded '1 lady owner, just used to go to the shops and back' springs to mind
