i hope I have made the right decision  .....I have now ordered a new 197 Cup (in white with satin black wheels).Delivery in six weeks.....astonishingly I have acheived £8990  for the Trophy in px with a small discount on the 197 cup.....but before I let it go, I would likel to see if anyone out there in Trophy Land is looking to purchase a Trophy....I will let it go for the PX price!

Its just approaching 32K....two new front tyres, plenty left on the rear....no mods except for a K&N replacement filter in the standard airbox and some big recaro stickers on the base of the front seats....PM me if you are interested....photo available on request.....

The car is based in Thornbury near Bristol!

good luck with it, that's a hell of a price for px, makes a mockery of some dealers offering £7k for mint examples with less than 20k on the clock.

Well played.

...dealer was quite keen to have the Trophy, saying he wanted to retail it...sounds like he's got a buyer, who will no doubt part with 10k for it  I will be sad to see my Trophy go  ...I still keep getting pains of guilt...I hope I don't regret it and the 197 Cup will make my grin as big as the Trophy does....

It would be interesting to hear what you think of the Cup compared to the Trophy. I was looking at 197's but each time I drive the Trophy it puts a big grin on my face

Drove the cup again today, just to make sure....I had a grin on my face  Gear box is superb, breaks are exellent....steering a little light at low speeds, but tightens up in the fast bends.....I don't think I'll be dissapointed with the swap. The cup is a more refined ride though, even if the write ups say its harsh.

Delivery at end of March...will post some pics :p

Wife wants me to have R26 or 197 next. =;

Think cupped 197 in white, red or nimbus is maybe edging it.

The 20kg saving of the cup against loosing all the toys don't weigh up

You can order a standard 197 with the cup chasis as a £400 option....I think you can also have one in white with black wheels, although the brake calipers won't be in red as this is signiture to the Cup (as well as the Cup badge).....but you don't need toys to play with when you are taking bends at speed

The equivilant of the FF CUP'd 182 then?
Sounds like it would be a great way to get all the toys & yet having the colour of choice.
The calipers wouldn't be a great deal, a few hours & they could be red

...oh! Red calipers included, so no need to take the wheels off.....I may regret not having Aircon.....but I've got £1000 left over to take it accross the Alps!

for me no matter how good a car reno produce my next one will not be french. The dealership network has put me off owning another one, although i don't envisage ever getting rid of #274.

I wish I could afford to keep #294 as well as buying a 197 Cup....but the px offer is too good to refuse (effectively £9150) and the Trophy is close to the end of warranty. There's no doubt about it, the Trophy is an awsome car and I doubt even the 197 Cup will quite match its appeal :( , but should be close enough to keep me happy for another three years or so. Won't be using the Reno dealer network for servicing though, I'm just not impressed  I'll take it to Carlton Garage who is a Reno specialist in Exmouth as with the Trophy

Was told £400 for cup packs which includes red calipers??

Same as R27?

You are correct...Red Callipers included......add some recaro's and some RS Stickers from the accessories selection and you could have an unofficial R27!

i don't have any doubts you'll regret the decision... my R27 now has just under 4000 on the clock and i'm still loving it, pure grin factor handling wise and my mpg has started improving too... up to an avg of 31 on my commute to work (Trophy would be about 34ish mpg).

that soon drops though when i hit my playground of Milton Keynes at the weekend!

reminds me, i should right up a bit of a comparison of the two really from my ownership experiences
