What is a good price for a renault clio trophy....I have been looking at one with32k on the clock, body work is good engine as far as I can tell is fine. Owner is asking £8500

A second question if i may what is the strange noise coming from when you floor the peddle on the trophy. I have never heard that noise before. It sounds like a deep rumbling sound. It is around 5k rpm I think.

Hope that makes sense.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thats the magic 5000rpm kick in the ass. This happens on all 182's, not just the Trophy.
Something to do with the VVT, Variable Valve Timing.

£8500 is a good price, £9000 for a low milage and £8000 for a highish milage one, so at 32k your somewhere in the middle, you may be able to get them down a little bit but not much.

£8500 is a bargain - i'd have said it could fetch up to £9250 -£9500.

Not sure about this sound your referring to though.... there a change in the engine mgt system at 5k, it's not VVT but reno's variation to it in a roundabout way.

it doesn't have a noise to it though that i can think of... Are you sure it's coming from the engine and not the exhaust? i'd need to hear it to be able to help, sorry.

Good Price for Clio

It could be coming from the exhaust. As I said I have never heard it before so not to sure.

The reply from the previous post could be correct 'Something to do with the VVT, Variable Valve Timing'? It was one heck of a rumble/gargling noise.
