What a Trophy does: stopped at a roundabout

Coming home tonight from Newark (A1M southbound) I was stopped at a busy roundabount on the approach to London.

I could not believe it. A guy cut in front of me sideways (i.e. I was looking straight into his window as his car was at a 90 degree angle to me).

Despite everyone blowing their horns behind me, this guy insisted on pulling out his camera phone, and proceeded to wind down his window and take a photo of me in the car!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... I just kind of sat there dumbstruck listening to everyone asking him to move on!

I wonder if the guy will ever find the site.. he was in a Ford Escort panel van (the small one) and it had Dagenham Motors liverly all over it.

If you're reading this mate... thanks for the attention.. but you're nuts!!!! :twisted:

Everyone started staring at me afterwards thinking I was a pop star or something (obviously to the untrained eye it could not be that they were taking a photo of a crappy Clio!).

So there you go. The only 15 minutes of fame I will ever get!

Stayed at a mates last night and left the Trophy in a car park over the road, when I went back to it this morning there was a road worker about to do something or other to the road parallel and when I popped the boot he smiled and said 'Now that's a proper car!'

Never really had any attention about it before, cool though!

The guy across the road from me keeps coming over and mumbling "I do like that" when I'm washing mine.

More surprising as he usually doesn't speak to me!

hrumph, have never spotted another trophy on the road, there doesn't seem to be any within a million miles of me, nobody ever stares and even the corsa kiddies steer clear. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO. :?:

There's a part of me that i'm embarassed about that'd like it if I never saw another one, makes it feel really rare, I reluctantly admit as good as it is to see another Trophy, there's always a little Pang of annoyance, especially when i've been bigging it up to my mate for the last 10 minutes:

Me: "Yeah there's fewer on the road than Aston DB5s"

Them: "Oh there's one!"

To be honest that statistic is misleading though, how many DB5 owners drive it every week let alone every day? I expect most of them are tucked away in De-humidified garages for all but a few days a year. Sounds good though...

Believable, I see a DB9 and a Vanquish most days, only see another Trophy once a week maybe.

Can't remember where I saw it, but the DB5 thing came cos I'm sure I read somewhere that there were close to a thousand (or maybe a little more) still registered and on the road (or still used at some point).
