Water Temperature Needle!

Was half way through a 2 hour drive, just hit the M25 at the Dartford crossing and something on the dash gaught my attention!

The water temperature needle had gone into disco mode! \:D/
Started goin absolutely nuts. Would never go above the half way point which i could only assume was the actual temperature, but would go to nothing, then half way drop to a quarter of the wat etc etc. . . . .

Still doing it now. 3 days later! As soon as there is a temperature to be measured, it goes nuts again. Any ideas??? ](*,)

Off to Wests 'again' i reckon!

Sounds like our friend the dodgy temperature sensor.

Seems a common 182 fault, it causes exactly that symptom.

I think its more common than that! Once I overheard some woman who had a Clio (not 182) had hers ready a nice constant -20 degrees. Warranty job for sure...

I had that the other day, quite off-putting.
Pulled over, switched car off, started up again and it settled back at half way and didn't move after that. I assumed some sort of loose connection rather than fast and huge changes in engine temperature, so nothing too serious !
Another little thing to be looked at in the first service...
