I wouldn't rush to criticise, many people have different reasons for selling assets. In this case the car sounded great, but I'm aware of what dealers are offering for Trophys and it's nothing like £9950. If he got that back that would be a result compared to the average dealer offer recently. As it is, the dealer came to their senses and maybe had someone lined up - they upped the bid to deal him on his new car. Shame because that sounded like a nice one.

Most seem to be getting offered around the nine thousand mark. Cars at auction on average make around CAP money - as Clio Cups book a lot less anyone sending one there is only going to get a distorted offer*. A dealer basing a trade-in price on a Cup would consider 9K to be a strong bid. It's a specialist car and any sales manager with sense would say bugger the auction policy and find someone like me in the guide to bid stronger money. The same could be said for any Lotus Exige or Evo 8, 9.

* I have had Renault dealers admit to not knowing about them or having ever sold one. Indeed selling them to me. But then again, they should only stock cars that fit their sales profile anyway.

Statistically you can't judge from one sale at a certain mileage as none of us know the true condition, recon and ownership.
