Well some of you may remember me? Im little Newms from Cliosport. I use to own a 172 Cup but decided to sell. I bought a few cars after that with the best one being a citroen saxo vts (loved it! Gutted when that went!) I saved a few pennys and bought a house with my Mrs and here i am today! All moved out! I wanted a mint ph1 172. I looked at a few and realised how many w@nk examples there is out there!
So i thought sod it and back in March i bought one on 64k! It was in a poor state. Not only mechanically but also external! My plan is to restore it back to how it should be!
Its been a few hard months! Mechanically the car *touch wood" is now perfect!
I have had the following done:
New dics all round
New pads all round
New tyres all round
New fuel line
Cambelt change
Aux belt change
Gearbox oil changed
Engine oil changed
Brake fluid change
Spark plugs replaced with the correct ones!
New yozza sport stealth exhaust
Koni adjustable shocks with 40mm springs
and finally an ITG panel filter
After this i thought all was going well but no.... A few more problems arrived!
New lamber sensor
New o/s driveshaft
New n/s driveshat
Replaced Inner cup's
Replaced the water pump that went
and finally got a four wheel allignment by super tyres in maldon!
With moving out this has crippled me but still! Fingers crossed thats it mechanically sound for a while! Now the plans are to refurb all of the wheels (silver not black like most!!!) And then have a few bits sprayed here and there. Then hopefully! It will be one of the cleanest examples out there!
