The proletariate do not make decisions; we vote for people to make decisions for us.

Don't vote Labour and don't abstain from voting - vote Tory! Right wing thinking makes sense.

This is yet again another example of Labour's socialist and eco-influenced views making middle class polluters (people with cars and above average incomes) pay for their behaviour. Behaviour I might add is only wrong because socialists and green bearded mongoloids say it is.

I really don't recall the last tory goverment doing more more than line their own and their constituent pockets either. It infuriates me when people bring party politics on to a car forum, keep it for down the pub, none of us really know each other and although things like politics and religion have a bearing on a person they don't define them and arguments on these subjects on forums can sour a persons view of another.

Then having links to online petitions is a no-no then? It will encourage political discussion and air out political views and frankly this is not a bad thing. Politics and economics create the systems we all operate to and to not discuss them (regardless of how familar we are with each other) would be a shame because we are all affected by the decisions and actions of policy makers.

Our society is based on argument, discussion and the free exchange of ideas. This forum is as good a place as any to perpetuate that building process in my opinion.

And besides, the only reason I encourage you to vote Troy is because there is no real alternative. And if you think about it we don't live in a democracy because a) we only have two real choices at the polls and b) we do not choose who rules us: God does. Oops, I brought up religion as well.

I suppose we could simply ask for parts prices and show each other our detailing skills instead.

Yes but you find that people on a forum will have some kind of position and then are totally unwilling to listen to argument because they they don't have to, all sort of extreme rabid views can be expressed without the fear that you are going to justify those views. It's fairly obvious that you will lump me with the socialists and green bearded mongoloids, nice I hope nobody on here has a relative with that particular affliction because I know I would be steaming at you right now.

If you would like to discuss politics a car forum is not the ideal place to do so, but if you must, why not start a new thread with a political title?
But just rememer you used to play tricks like that else where and it got you banned :lol:

I voiced my opinion about the issue - its an attack on motorists once again which is in fact a enviro-socialist attack on the middle classes. I assume you didn't read my original post. I was also making the point that not voting for Labour would be more poweful than any petition because the people don't make political decisions - politicians and civil servants do (who are controlled by politicians).

I was then attacked (but quik5i1ver wasn't I presume) for being political so I fought back.

And I was banned for mocking Catholic priests, not for being political. More generally - my sense of humour and point of view was not congruent with a certain clique on RS forum.

Don't assume anything, I wouldn't reply having only read half the story.

So where abouts in any of the above is anything to do with "not guilty" motorists facing court costs?

As for your quick5ilver reference, a simple scape goat comment, not someone (you) directly telling other members to support one particular party.

The effectiveness of your communication was measured by the back lash, how is anyone supposed to read in to your statement what you wrote the second time and quoted from the first time?

I didn't want a fight, this is not "my" forum but I was perhaps offering a friendly warning with a valid reason to tone it down a bit

Back completely on topic, all signed up. I think that's an appaling idea, how can someone be charged for being prosecuted for an offence where there was insufficient evidence to prove they are guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. I know it can be wrong that people get off through small technicalities, when it is more than likely that they have committed an offence, but it would be even more wrong for people to get convicted of offences they haven't committed.
