New to this site, so still feeling my way around. I have been seriously considering buying a 172 CUP or 182 Cup for weekend fun use and perhaps the occasional track day, maybe!!!
Every time I look at the classified it appeasers that approx: 98% of 172 & 182's are owned by the young typical boy racers and most have been severely modified, not to my liking. Then when you see the occasional 182 Trophy up for sale these cars seem to be owned by a slightly different breed of owners.
Anyway this post is not meant to offend anyone so please go easy on me.
As a result of the 172 and 182 cars that I have viewed I have come to the occlusion that I have set my heart on tracking down a low millage sub 60k car, 2-3 careful OCD owners with full service history, completely accident free 182 Trophy in immaculate condition. I am also allowing 2k aside for a full service including all the belts pulleys, dephaser pulley, new discs if needed, engine mounts, suspension rebuild, clutch etc,etc. I am looking for long term ownership.
My nearest specialist would be Mark Fisher, but am happy to travel if you guys have other suggestions too?
If any of you are thinking of selling please drop me a line and can you also let me know if any of you have had regular dealings with MF and what you views are please. I come from a background of BMW E30 M3 EVO SPORT, ( I wish I still had this car), Fast Fords and a variety of TVR'S. I hope the 182 Trophy does not disappoint!!!!!!!
