Ah, well you read the thread. How much is it going for? Have you tried allvehicles He has sold a good many and he has a couple available at the moment.
Tricky one, it looks as if they wrote off a week old £15k car, dampers £3k, wheels etc £1.5-£2k then labour, think may have been more damage than "slight frontal" could be wrong, hopefully someone on here will know better.
The current owners are a renault specalist breakers, and they are pretty shit hot at repairing chassis damage, so there may be no indication of any bent bits.
I currently have a 172 ph2 on H+R coilovers, so I am guessing if it is ok, it should be on par with what i have now.
welcome to the site Dave.... have you had a drive of a Trophy that you know has had no damage? i know no two cars drive the same but it'd definitely be worth taking this one on an extended test drive.
other than getting the car on a ramp and having a look underneath it i'm not sure what else you can check either.... being specialist Renault breakers i'd be more encouraged that they know what they are doing though
my experience of cars that have major repair work of any nature is that they are cheaper to buy but more expensive to run and sell for less. I'd stay clear.
Its simply a case of trying to stretch farther/further than your finances say you should. If you can't or don't want to spend the going rate than wait till the cars come down to your financial level or you rise up to it's.
As others have been saying I wouldn't wanna take the risk for the sake of a few grand.
Edit: Oops, pardon my poor manners, welcome to the forum
